I sank inside until I was buried to the hilt and his body shook around me, squeezing and tightening and greedily pulling. I’d never felt anything like it before, and I knew I wouldn’t last, but the omega beneath me didn’t want me to.

He wanted my knot.

Sebastian arched, one hand wrapped around his cock, the other spread over his stomach in an effort to ease the heat cramp. ‘Please,’ he begged, and I couldn’t refuse him.

I pulled out, then pushed back in, hissing every expletive I knew. It washeaven, and I wanted him to know it, and feel it, too. I dipped down to take his mouth with mine, my tongue tracing his bottom lip before I bit down. I didn’t break the skin, but he whimpered and squirmed beneath me, throwing his head back to bare his neck.

‘Alpha,’ he whined, and my control snapped.

I pulled back, then my hips kicked as I thrust –hard.

‘Yes,’ Sebastian snarled, arching, his eyes wild. ‘Yes.’

My lips pressed against his scent gland as I gave him everything I could. It wasn’t gentle, and it wasn’t reverent; it was instinctual and frantic, the alpha inside me wanting topossessthe omega beneath him. My teeth scraped over his skin, and he chantedyes, please, alpha, moreas the scent of cherry thickened in the air. I lowered my body, letting him rut against me as I moved. His legs shifted higher and I sank deeper inside him, snarling wordlessly as my knot began to swell.

‘Fuck, yes,’ he cried. ‘Alpha,bite.’

I scraped my teeth over his scent gland again, but somehow, I managed to hold back. There were no other bite marks on his skin, and I knew I shouldn’t be the first one to leave them there, even if my teeth ached as they pushed down, ready. His scent match’s teeth should be the first to sink beneath his skin, and, after that, the alpha who’d loved him for years. I was last on the list, and happily; I knew I just needed to be patient and wait my turn.

He shuddered, his body tightening as his cock jerked against my belly. ‘Fuck, yes,’ I snarled. ‘Come, omega.’ My knot caught on his entrance as I swelled. I plunged inside him one last time, then rocked as my knot inflated.

Sebastian gave a wordless whine, and his body squeezed as he came, panting frantically, his arms closing around me. ‘Alpha.’

Pleasure flooded through me; I muffled my shout against Sebastian’s neck. My vision went white, but I wasn’t afraid. I rocked against my omega, my knot lodged in his body, and as the pleasure ebbed and my vision cleared, I heard another sound.

A deep, unbroken rumble, coming from my chest.

I pulled back, surprised.

Sebastian blinked up at me, his lips curving. ‘You’re purring, alpha,’ he said. ‘You’re purring forme.’ His hands stroked up my back as his body relaxed. ‘Oh. That’s so good.’

I moved carefully, rolling us so that Sebastian sprawled across me. He gave a bitten-off whimper as my knot shifted inside him, but settled quickly, laying his head on my chest and sighing happily as he listened to my purr.

My heart just about burst as his own began to rumble, slightly less deep and slightly less loud, as if we were two different notes in the same melody.

‘The nest is right,’ he said sleepily.

I kissed his head. ‘Omega?’

‘The nest wasn’t right before. It is, now. It was you. You were the thing that was missing.’

Oh.

‘I’m glad, Sebastian.’ I stroked his hair, loving the feeling of his weight on me. ‘I’m so glad I could give you what you needed.’ My head dropped to the side, and I stilled my strokes.

Rose and Tristan were both awake, and both had their eyes on us.

Onme.

Rose smiled, full and approving.Hey, she mouthed, then her eyes fluttered and closed once more. Her smile remained, her expression one of deep contentment.

Tristan’s expression was inscrutable. I couldn’t tell what he was thinking; it could have been anything. I couldn’t imagine that it wasgood; the alpha that had walked away from him was currently knot-deep in his long-term love and omega. I’d be feeling alot, if I were him.

Sebastian murmured, his weight increasing as he slipped into sleep. Tristan focused on my fingers, still caught in the golden strands of Sebastian’s hair. His brow furrowed, but it looked thoughtful, rather than angry. He caught my eye once more – my heart skipped a beat and my purr faltered – and there was a long, tense moment where we stared at each other.

I realised I’d forgiven him.

He closed his eyes and buried his face in Rose’s hair.
