I scowl and stare at her until she starts cackling like an evil bitch—she is, but so am I. I shove her arm and she falls back on the floor, but her cackling only intensifies.

“You’re such a cow,” I tell her and get up.

She does have a point, but am I going to admit that to her?

Hell to the fucking no.

Maybe it’s time I whip out my phone, dust off my Cinderfella app, and get some dick elsewhere.

“Want to go out tonight? I can be your wingman,” she says.

I raise an eyebrow her way as I turn the drip coffee on and wait for my wake-up juice.

“Uhm, what? And stand me up like last time? No thanks.”

“I thought you forgave me for that,” she says.

“I haven’t. If you’d turned up, I wouldn’t have kissedhim.”

“Hey! Don’t blame me for your drunken mistakes. I’ve got enough of my own to worry about, thank you very much.”

“I can’t, anyway. I’m working, remember?”

“Fine. But if I get the job at the zoo, youwillcome out and celebrate with me, yeah?”

I try to plaster a smile on my face. I don’t want to start a fight. It’s too early, and I haven’t even had my coffee yet.

“Sure,” I say, and she struts joyfully into the bathroom for her morning shower.

“Can you make me a cup to go, please?” she says before she closes the door behind her.

She doesn’t wait for an answer. I don’t need to give her one. Of course I’ll make her one. I’ll prepare her coffee, and wish her luck. I’ll be happy with her when she gets the job at the zoo, and I’ll tell her it’s okay when she comes back and is fed up with it.

That’s what brothers do.

CHAPTER5

Linc

“Can you, like, just go back to Hawaii, please? That’s disgusting,” I tell my friend and his boyfriend who are tonguing each other with the same passion as wrestlers fighting in the Olympics.

Isaac lifts off his boyfriend’s lap and grimaces.

“You wouldn’t be saying that if you had a boy toy yourself,” he says.

I roll my eyes with a groan. Helovesmessing with me with all the gay jokes. It doesn’t usually frustrate me, but fucking hell, it’s starting to irritate me lately.

Especially because he seems to do it more and more.

“Truth,” Ezra adds with a pointed look.

And what’s worse now, his stupid-ass boyfriend is joining in on the fun.

“Hey! You’ve been a boy toy for less than two weeks, so you can shut up right now. You’re not allowed to join in,” I warn him with a raised finger.

Ezra saunters over to me, standing in the middle of Isaac’s apartment, and when he reaches me, he puts his lips around my finger and sucks on it with a smoldering look.

Fuck.
