Holidays were meant to be spent with family, friends, and all other animals. Not all alone.
It was partly my fault. I’d never really asked him about his plans, and I didn’t know much about his family. I only knew he had an older brother. He’d never mentioned any parents, so I wasn’t sure if they were in the picture. Considering the man had been working for me for two months, I should know more than that.
Something I was definitely going to rectify. But first…
“Okay, I’m just gonna take this to Parker upstairs, and I’ll be right down to help finish up.”
Elliot nodded and went around the shop floor with a broom and pan, continuing his morning routine.
“Good morning, sleepyhead,” I said when I saw him climbing down the ladder in nothing but his birthday suit, and he turned his yawn into a smile.
“Not my fault my boba wore me out last night,” he said and planted a kiss on my lips.
I tried to ignore how cute the pet name sounded from that seven-foot monster or how it made my heartbeat waver, and I gave him his bubble tea.
“Ew. Teeth. Brush. Now,” I told him.
He shrugged and sucked on the straw with a stupid grin.
“That’s your cum you’re smelling. If you’re so opposed to it, maybe I’ll stop eating it.”
I rolled my eyes and, with a grimace, slipped out of his arms.
“You’re grotesque. Now go get ready. It’s Black Friday. We need all hands on deck.”
Parker thumped his foot on the floor and lifted his right hand to his forehead turning all grim and serious. “Sir, yes, sir!” he yelled, and I almost choked on my own saliva, laughing.
As he walked away, cup in hand, I slapped his butt cheek and checked the balcony for the Golden Girls.
They were there again as usual.
I didn’t know how they’d found me, but seeing them every morning and having a little breakfast chat was one of my highlights. I’d been doing it for so long back at Halmeoni’s. It was great to be able to continue the tradition here.
And according to Halmeoni, they still hung around her house all day too. It was like they knew I’d moved out, and they’d decided I needed looking after too.
I spent some time with them, and when I went back inside, Parker was fully dressed and his cup was empty, tapioca pearls included.
“Hm…” I said.
“What?” he asked, looking around him for a fault.
“I think I prefer you naked.”
“That can easily be arranged,” he replied, grabbing my hand and pulling me into him in one fell swoop.
“No. Let me go, you voracious, greedy bastard.”
I slapped his chest, but I didn’t know why. It only made me hard.
“I didn’t see you complain about either my voracity or greed last night,” he grumbled in my ear, and I laughed, trying to escape his clutches.
At this point, did I even want to? Or did I just succumb to desire and take the day off?
Black Friday.
“Come on. We need to go. We can’t leave Elliot to deal with the thirsty mob downstairs,” I said.
“Fine. But you ruin all the fun,” he said.
