He hadn’t been abducted and replaced by aliens. He was trying to impress Halmeoni.
I took his hands and squeezed them, pulling him into me and tilting my head back so I could keep looking at him.
“Not bad. But I don’t know that Halmeoni is easily impressed,” I said.
His lips curved down and he puffed his cheeks.
He did not have the right to look so adorable when he pulled that face. He did not!
“But I’m easier,” I whispered and tugged him closer, my mouth inches under his.
“I knowthat,” he mumbled, and for that, he got a bite with the kiss I planted on him.
His weight pressing me against the sink, with his hand trailing down to the small of my back, made me all fuzzy and groggy. Like I’d just woken up and needed to go back to bed with him by my side, kissing me, hugging me, making love to me.
His tongue lashed against the back of my teeth, searching for mine, and just when he’d found it, I heard the creak.
“Oh. Oops. Sorry. Don’t mind me,” Camden said and backtracked out of the kitchen.
I looked at Parker with a grimace and waited for his reaction.
“Well, at least I came out to my family first,” he said and laughed.
Relief washed over me and I laughed with him. I really liked how easily and carefree he was taking this long and complicated journey of self-discovery.
He wasn’t like all the other boys, was he?
Every day we spent together, living together—how the hell had that happened so fast—I saw more and more who he truly was. I was getting dangerously addicted to those puppy dog eyes and the affection that seemed to overflow from him.
I glanced at Camden when we came back out, and he gave me a discreet but unmistakable grin. His boyfriend put his hand around his back and looked at me.
“Hwan, Autumn told us about the issues with your café. Is everything okay?” Linc said.
“Yeah, it’s all good now. Just seemed to be getting into some really bad luck since I launched, but thankfully things are starting to take shape. We’ve got the CCTV installed now, so I doubt anyone will do anything, and even if they do, we’ll catch them,” I said.
“And the place has gotten a lot busier since that stupid graffiti,” Parker added.
“There’s nothing like a bad incident to bring Mayberry Holm together,” Wyatt said, carrying the tray of turkey bones into the kitchen.
Ash and Autumn got into a conversation about small towns while Camden, Linc, and Parker played with Biscuit and Maddox chatted with my grandma while taking down notes. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was asking her for the recipes of all the stuff she’d brought today.
I took my phone and went away to the farthest corner of the bar for a quick live to wish my followers Happy Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving, sweetie.
You look gorgeous.
What are you thankful for?
The comments poured through, but I pondered over the last one.
What was I thankful for?
I looked behind my phone at the big mountain of a man that had melted into a puddle of goo under the influence of Biscuit’s tongue.
Him.
I turned back to the camera and smiled.
