Luke bit his lip and that made me want to bite it myself.
“It’s not the time,” he said.
“Then stay the night,” I said.
Did I honestly just offer someone to spend the night in my house just so I could kiss him some more. And not just anyone, but Fisayo’s son nonetheless.
“What?” he asked.
“I mean… I’m sure Nonny would love to have you sleep over. And maybe when… when everyone is asleep, we can do some more of… that.” I traced my fingers over his lips.
“I… I don’t know—”
“I’m sorry. I made it weird, didn’t I? I shouldn’t have kissed you,” I said.
He grimaced.
“Last I remember, I kissed you first. I should be the one apologizing.”
“Okay,” I said and raised an eyebrow.
“What are you doing?”
“Waiting for the apology.”
“I’m not going to,” he said.
“You won’t?”
Luke shook his head.
“Why?”
“Because I liked it too much.”
“Me, too,” I said.
“So, neither of us is going to apologize.”
“No.”
“Okay.”
And we kissed again. Naturally. The more of his lips I took, the less power I had to stop myself.
“So are you staying the night?” I asked.
He pursed his lips and looked at me over his eyelashes. He rolled his eyes before he answered and that made me want to kiss him again, but I restrained myself.
“I guess. If Fisayo is okay with it.”
“Oh trust me. She will be,” I said.
“Oh my God, Luke. You have to try these,” Beth said, coming back into the room with a plate in her hand. Fisayo followed behind her, and we put some distance between us.
But even at a distance, I could feel the imprint of his lips on mine. And I couldn’t wait to feel their real weight on me again later.
Again and again and again.
