“Come back home!” His message came back within seconds.

“You can even bring your new toy with you,” came a second one only a moment later.

“Lol. Okay. We’ll see. I can’t leave at the moment. We’re super busy. And you’re coming later this month for my birthday, so I’ll see you then.”

His response was a sad face emoji and a promise to have a superhero viewing party soon. Then I got to work.

“Are you going to tell me what your surprise is or am I gonna have to pull it out of you?” I asked on our short lunch break.

I’d made us a couscous salad with roasted peppers and goat cheese and a vegan natural protein shake to help us power through the day.

“It can wait,” he said.

The more he teased me with it, the more impatient I got, and I couldn’t even start to imagine what he could possibly surprise me with.

“Tell meee,” I begged.

“It’s fine, honey,” he teased some more, and I’d just about had it.

“Tell me now, boy, or I’ll punish you into submission,” I said with gritted teeth.

I was careful not to be loud of course. But it still had an effect on him.

He froze in place, watching me, with his mouth full. Then he swallowed and put his fork down.

“Okay. Wait here,” he said and pushed his chair back.

He walked off into the front and returned some moments later, getting down on his knees beside me like a good submissive and holding an envelope out to me.

“I wanted to give you an early birthday present,” he said.

I took the envelope from him and patted his head.

“My birthday is at the end of the month, silly boy,” I mumbled, but my interest was definitely piqued.

I wasn’t a big fan of surprises, but the fact that my boy was already treating me for my birthday made my insides do some happy somersaults as I opened the flap and pulled the pieces of paper from inside.

Cursed Hearts, Pilot Live Concert.

I was shocked and most definitely surprised. I’d been meaning to go to the live concert for ages, but whenever they came through Detroit, I was always busy in the ER and could never make it. It had been a big dream to go and watch the magnificence of the first episode, orchestrated by a live band, and share in the experience with other Hearties.

“This is… I have no words,” I said. “And it’s on Valentine’s Day.”

My hands moved to take him into my embrace before I even thought about it, and he held me close, pressing at the small of my back.

“They’re coming to New Harlow for one night only, and they were sold out, but I reached out to my forum and snatched two tickets for us,” he said to my neck.

I’d expected sex toys, or maybe even a trip to a BDSM club, but I hadn’t actually expected tickets to my favorite thing in the world. And I hadn’t even needed to tell him I wanted to go. He knew. If that wasn’t a perfect mental bond, I didn’t know what was.

“I’m gonna give you such a good time later, just you wait my little witch,” I whispered in his ear.

“So… you like it?” he asked.

“I love it.”

He beamed at my admission, and I loved seeing his big smile. It mademesmile. And horny.

“I don’t know how to thank you,” I said. “I mean, I can think of a way or four, but they all involve sex.”
