I think it over, and even though there are little voices in the back of my head saying things can still go belly up despite trust, I know he’s right. We’re all adults. And we’re all honest with each other. There’s no reason why we can’t be happy in this fivesome we’ve found ourselves in.
Zoe comes back and sits down across from me. Elsie runs over to her to tickle her neck.
“How is she?” I ask her.
She giggles at Elsie’s teasing before she turns to me and nods.
“She’s fine. Just needs a moment.”
“Do you think she’s ready to talk to me?” I ask.
“Of course,” Zoe says.
I get up and look toward the direction both girls had fled to, and as I turn my back to Beau, Zoe, and Elsie, I stop.
“I didn’t mean to insult you, Zoe. I’m sorry,” I tell her.
She waves her hand dismissively and offers me a smile.
“Pfff, don’t worry about it. With a girl like Dolly, who wouldn’t be overprotective?” she says, and if I didn’t know before, then I do now.

I walk down the path to find Dolly sitting under a tree in a meditative pose and with her eyes closed.
“Gee, I must have made you really mad if you need to meditate,” I tell her.
I sit next to her, but she doesn’t open her eyes.
“What makes you say that?” she asks.
“Uhm… you never meditate.” I bump my shoulder to hers and laugh.
At that, she opens her eyes and glares at me for a second before succumbing to my joke.
“Fair,” she says. “You were a real ass back there.”
“No, I’d probably say a jerk,” I correct her.
“More like a twat,” she deadpans.
“Or a fucktwat even.”
“Cuntflapper.”
“Cuntburger,” I say.
“Ooh, I like that. Cockgobbler.”
“Is that supposed to be an insult?” I ask.
“Yeah,” she replies. “You’re more of a jizz junkie.”
I bump her shoulder again, this time a bit stronger.
“I’m sorry. I like Zoe. She’s good for you. And she’s Beau’s best friend, so bonus points for her,” I say.
“I really do like her. Well, love her, really. I just know she’s it, you know? I can’t explain it,” she says.
