His father needed to go back to work, Aki as well, so his mother decided to watch over him, just in case.
“I don’t mind being with you all day,” his mother tried to persuade him.
“That’s not really necessary.”
“Are you sure?”
“Of course. I’m okay.” Ryosuke gave her a reassuring smile.
“Promise me you won’t try to hurt yourself again.”
Ryosuke nodded. “I promise.”
Matsuko reluctantly got up and left the room. When the door clicked after her, Ryosuke closed his eyes and released a heavy sigh. The pain in his chest wasn’t going away. He wondered why he had to be saved, why couldn’t he just die?
I guess I need to wait to be banished from this bunker and die slowly from hunger and cold. I admitted it was me; it shouldn’t last long.
Ryosuke didn’t even manage to collect his thoughts when he heard the door open again. Irritated, he looked towards the entrance.Who is it this time?
His ex-fiancé entered the room. Ryosuke wasn’t happy to see her, but he knew he had to accept her visit.
“Ryosuke,” Ayame said when she closed the door. It looked like she was hesitating to get closer, but she approached his bed anyway.
“I’ve heard what happened.”
Ryosuke only locked eyes with her.
“I didn’t know you were feeling so low. I’m sorry. If it’s my fault, I–”
“No. It’s not your fault.”
“Then, why?” Ayame asked, confused.
Ryosuke looked away. “I had enough of everything, and wanted to end it.”
“I still don’t understand.”
“You never will.” He sighed. “There’s no need to understand. It’s complicated.”
“You were always like this! You never wanted to share your feelings or thoughts with me,” Ayame countered and crossed her arms.
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t you see how it could have ended? You could die.”
That was the whole point why I did it.
They came to a dead end again. There was nothing he could say to her. Ayame stood and waited for a while. “So that’s it? That’s all you have to say?”
“I have nothing to add,” Ryosuke stated, and not long after he could hear the door slam.

All needed material from Björn and Maya’s room got confiscated and taken to the laboratory while both young people ended up in confinement. Lennart called the entire team into the investigating room to go over new clues.
“Scarlett was what?” Gunnar and George shouted in unison.
“Poisoned,” Lennart repeated. “Elin and Jonathan made this discovery earlier today. But we still don’t know what exactly caused her death.”
