“Stop it!” Lennart shouted again.
Lennart held a defensive stance probably because he didn’t want to hurt his brother, but since he wasn’t stopping, he punched him in the face and threw him off balance.
The man laughed.
“How fiercely you defend your boyfriend. It’s very sweet.”
“Shut up!” Lennart flung another fist to his face making his head flung to the side.
“Fuck! It’s totally worth it.”
Lennart grabbed Björn by the collar, and they both ended on the floor.
Ryosuke crawled to the other end of the bed, coughing. When his breathing stabilized, he tried to stop his bleeding. He pulled on his sleeve and pressed the fabric to his nose.
He anxiously watched the fight and reached for his phone with his other hand. Two men were fighting without a break, so Ryosuke took this opportunity to make a call.
With trembling fingers he dialed the number.
“P-please, send someone! T-there’s a fight. Please be quick,” he said and coughed again, noticing that speaking came with difficulty. Ryosuke struggled to remember the numbers. It took him a moment until he added, “It’s on the twelfth floor. Room number three.”
Ryosuke gripped the phone tight, and with teary eyes looked at the fight between two men. Their t-shirts were already stained with blood and ripped, but they weren’t stopping.
With the first opportunity Ryosuke went to open the door so the guard wouldn’t waste his time knocking, and scanned for some heavy object. Since he found nothing that could be used without causing a lot of harm, Ryosuke decided to throw himself at Lennart’s attacker to at least slow him down and disable him for a while.
“Ryosuke!” Lennart screamed when both men crashed on the floor.
Ryosuke saw stars from the lack of air in his lungs, but they didn’t last long as Lennart punched Björn away. Ryosuke’s head throbbed as well as he remained lying on the floor.
He heard new voices in the room as his world spun.
“Enough!” one shouted.
“Separate them.”
“What’s going on here? Two brothers to fight like this?” another one exclaimed.
“Are you okay?” the woman asked Ryosuke.
Ryosuke wasn’t sure what to respond, but with her help he sat on the bed.
“Let me check you.” While she looked him over, Ryosuke turned to see if Lennart was okay.
He saw him panting and wiping the blood from the corner of his lips. Lennart’s brother didn’t look any better. He stared at Ryosuke with his left eye swollen. Blood dripped from his broken lip and a few bruises marked his face.
“Should we lock him up or what?” one of the guards asked Lennart.
“I hope it won’t be needed,” Lennart said, then looked at Björn. “But if this happens again, you will be locked for the remainder of our stay in this bunker.”
Björn scoffed and the guard dragged him out of the room when he got a sign from Lennart.
“Are you okay?” The woman asked Lennart.
He winced, but said, “I’m fine.”
“Should I send the doctor over?”
Lennart glanced at Ryosuke. “I should be okay, but it would be good to check him.”
