He’s just desperate because he’s behind bars. He’ll change his mind once he’s out.
Ayame lay on the bed and stared at the ceiling with her hands spread on her sides as another thought struck her.
I wonder if he really did have something with that woman? Or is there another one?
The more she thought about it, the more certain she became. With growing annoyance, Ayame pushed herself into a sitting position.
His prints were found on the object she was hit with. If he really did it, what could be the motive? Was there someone else involved? Is he trying to cover for someone, or what?
She covered her face with her hands and sighed.
“I don’t know what to think anymore,” Ayame groaned and then jumped when her phone rang.
Disappointment painted her face when she saw it was her mother. “Yeah?”
“Darling? Where are you today?”Keiko’s voice was laced with worry.
“I know, I skipped lunch. I’m in my room.”
“Are you okay? Are you feeling sick or something?”
“No, no. I’m okay.”
Ayame wondered whether to tell her mother the news or not.
“Want me to come over? I believe you feel lonely.”
Yes, I feel lonely, now more than ever.
“Yeah. You can come over.
When they ended their conversation, Ayame flung the phone across the bed and threw herself back on the mattress.

“It will take up to eight minutes,” the nurse said when she attached a cannula to Lennart’s vein. “While we draw your blood, we’ll get some results from the lab.”
“Okay,” Lennart said and hoped it wouldn’t be too late. He looked at the line of blood leaving his body, and asked, “Will he make it?”
The doctor turned to him. “There is no guarantee. I can’t tell if his body would be able to endure this trauma. His pulse is very weak, but I will do my best.”
“Please do. Thank you.”
“Many things can go south, and we can’t control all of it.”
Lennart could only wait now, but he knew he wouldn’t be able to relax until the doctor confirmed that Ryosuke was out of danger. He looked at the bag which was partially filled with red liquid and the nurse asked, “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine.”
“Let us know right away if you feel unwell.”
“Of course. Should we inform Ryosuke’s parents? Do they know at all?” Lennart asked.
“Not yet. He is in a very sensitive state right now. Letting them in would not be beneficial for him. When the time comes I will let them know,” the nurse said with a reassuring smile.
When his blood donation was finished the nurse added, “You can go get something to eat. And make sure you drink a lot.”
“Can I at least wait a little? To see how it goes?”
