Fuck.Lennart cursed under his breath, but knew that was not so strange, since most of the residents suffered from anxiety.

“Thirty-one people,” he spoke and looked at the names, trying to make mental connections with every single person. He went to review all the collected evidence from scratch. And all the footage.

Maya is the only suspect who had it prescribed. This is why all the drug tests were negative. She could do it with this pill!

As he looked at the footage, one detail caught his attention. He tried to search for another angle, but couldn’t find it. He tried to find more footage where that particular spot could be seen, but he was again unsuccessful.

“Dammit,” Lennart grunted and grabbed his phone to call Liam.

“Lenny? You live?”

Lennart was not in the mood for Liam’s humorous remarks.

“Come to my room. I need help with something.”

“I’ll be right there!”

While waiting for Liam, Lennart searched among the other video recordings, but without success.

When Liam reached his room, Lennart went straight to the point: “I can’t find footage from a specific camera.”

“I’m on it!” Liam entered and seated himself in Lennart’s chair. Lennart grabbed another chair so he could sit beside him.

“Which camera is it?”

“The one which covers the bar.”

Liam’s skilled fingers worked quickly. After a few minutes, he paused. “Hmm… The footage seems like it’s deleted.”

“Deleted?” Lennart raised his eyebrows.

“Yeah.” Liam proceeded typing. “I can try to locate the PC where it was deleted.”

“That would be greatly appreciated.” Lennart leaned in to see better. He let his friend work in peace and carefully observed.

Liam also kept his silence, only occasionally cursed. “Ah! Here it is!” He declared after about twenty minutes.

“Play it,” Lennart said, not sure what to expect, but he was almost one hundred percent sure he would soon get his answer. The hairs on his hands stood up; he forgot to blink and to breathe.

On the screen was footage from above which showed Scarlett approaching the bar. She gracefully rested her elbows on the surface and said something to the bartenders who filled the glasses. One of the other two women at the bar was his mother.

The women exchanged a few words, and Anna took a new glass to fill it. After that she reached for a bottle and knocked a few glasses and a purse. Contents from that purse scattered on the surface and Anna quickly straightened up what could be fixed. A few glasses ended up broken, but Anna made her best effort to serve Scarlett her drink.

“Wait!” Lennart broke Liam’s concentration when he pressed the space bar and paused the footage.

“What?”

“Don’t you see this?”

“See what?” Liam narrowed his eyes, but failed to see anything that could be out of ordinary. Only when Lennart pointed a finger at the screen did he notice.

“Holly shit!” Liam’s eyes widened.

“Is that a…?” Lennart trailed off, narrowing his eyes. “She will pour the drink in that glass, won’t she?”

Liam pressed space once more.

The scene played as Lennart thought it would, and they saw unknowing Scarlett grab the glass and take a sip.
