His smile lights up the night, and he giggles softly.“You’re beautiful,” I murmur, kissing his forehead, his nose, and finally his lips.

When we pull apart, he trails a finger through my hair.“So, with that out of the way…you want to go back inside and make love again?”

I smirk at his boldness, standing and lifting him into my arms. His legs wrap around my waist, and I carry him inside.

“Anything you say, my love,” I reply.

And I know, without a doubt, that I’m never letting him go.

Testing Loyalties

Istareouttheopen window, taking in the quiet neighborhood below. My fingers fumble with the buttons of my shirt as I get ready for our dinner—Fox and I are celebrating what feels like our 30th date.Once I finish buttoning, I reach up to gather my hair into a tie, but before I can secure it, I hear his voice behind me.

"Leave it, babe."

I whip around to find him standing in the doorway, dressed and as breathtaking as ever.Fox steps closer, his intense blue eyes locking onto mine.

"You look amazing, and I love your hair like this," he says softly, gently pulling my hands away from my hair and running his fingers through the strands.

"I look like a girl," I mutter, though my lips twitch into a smile.

"A beautiful one," he counters without missing a beat, making me blush.

"You look handsome," I say, trying to redirect the attention. He smirks at my compliment, his hands coming up to adjust my collar.

"You always look better," he whispers, leaning down to press a soft kiss to my forehead. His arms wrap around my waist as he rests his head lightly against mine.

When his lips meet mine, it’s slow and deliberate, as if he’s savoring every second. My hands trail down his chest, feeling the hard planes of muscle beneath his shirt, and I can’t help but think how lucky I am to have him.

But as much as I want to stay lost in this moment, reality catches up to me.The open window reminds me that anyone could see us.I reluctantly push him away.

"We could get caught," I whisper, glancing nervously at the street below.

Fox groans, running his fingers through his hair as he peers out the window."They’re all asleep."

"How would you even know that?"I chuckle, shaking my head at his confidence.

He smirks, leaning in closer."I feel like we should skip dinner and just pick up where we left off this morning."

"That wouldn’t be the worst idea," I admit, wrapping my arms around his waist.

"But I still want to take you out," he says, brushing his lips against mine one last time before pulling back.

"That’s so unfair," I grumble, making him laugh as he takes my hand and leads me out the door.

"This is really good," I mumble, my mouth full as I try to cover it with my hand.

"Better than what I made for you?"Fox asks, pouting in mock offense.

I swallow and chuckle."Yours is special, you know that."

He smirks, his eyes glinting as he watches me.His heated gaze makes me shift slightly in my seat, suddenly hyper-aware of how closely he’s studying me.

"Have you heard about Landon and Blaze?"I ask, hoping to change the subject.

Fox nods, reaching for his glass of water."Yeah.I’m glad they’re back together."
