“Did you see that? Mr. Cantrell pushed Amelia away…”

“Wasn’t Emily the one between Amelia and Lucas?”

“No—looks like Amelia’s chasing him, but he’s more interested in Emily.”

“I heard Amelia and Lucas were just faking it for appearances. This proves it—he doesn’t want her at all.”

The gossip spread like wildfire, each murmured speculation stoking the flames.

Amelia’s face burned crimson, humiliation twisting into rage. Her voice broke as she screamed above the noise, pointing a trembling finger at Emily.

“Not only did this woman seduce Sebastian Graves, she dares to interfere with Lucas and me as well! Isn’t it obvious? She’snothing but a mistress, a woman who thrives on destroying relationships! Wives, girlfriends, it makes no difference! All she knows is how to steal, and women like her should be punished and thrown out of here!”

The gossip spread like wildfire, each murmured speculation stoking the flames.

“You are the one who is going to punish and condemn my wife?” Sebastian’s voice rang through the hall. Every eye turned toward him, and all conversation died. Amelia, who had been glaring at Emily with smug, insulting eyes, froze the moment she saw Sebastian.

‘His wife?’ whispers rippled through the hall. ‘Did he just call Emily his wife?’

Amelia’s face went pale, and she stammered, her voice trembling. “N-No, Mr. Graves, I wasn’t talking about your wife… I was talking about this bit—”

“Finish that sentence,” Sebastian cut her off, his eyes sharp with pure hatred, “and I will finish you.” Amelia instinctively took a step back, the confidence draining from her face.

Sebastian strode forward and positioned himself next to Emily. His gaze softened as it met hers. “Are you alright, baby?” he asked, his voice calm but full of protective weight.

The hall fell utterly silent at the words. Gasps echoed, whispers died in midair, and every eye was fixed on Emily. Amelia’s face turned ghostly white, as if life itself had been drained from her.

“Bro, you arrived just in time,” Harold said loudly, stepping forward. “These people were just trying to hurt Ms. Emily.”

Sebastian glanced at him, his eyes still stern but tempered with a flicker of softness. “Don’t grab my wife’s arms in the future,” he said quietly, scolding Harold without anger.

Chapter 28 Mrs. Emily Graves

Whispers surged through the hall like wildfire.

“Wife? Did Mr. Graves marry Emily?”

“What about the girlfriend everyone’s been talking about…? Who is she—oh, it’s Emily?”

“My god… how can Amelia call her a mistress when she’s actually Sebastian’s wife?”

Gasps and murmurs rippled across the crowd, heads turning toward Emily as eyes widened in disbelief. The room buzzed with astonishment, the elegant hall now crackling with scandalous energy.

“Yes,” one voice said, incredulous. “How can she be a mistress? She’s married to Sebastian Graves! That’s outrageous.”

Another person leaned forward, voice raised in shock. “If she’s married to Graves, why would she ever care about someone like Mr. Cantrell? He doesn’t even have a business anywhere near Sebastian’s scale!”

“They must have some ulterior motive behind these accusations,” someone else suggested, shaking their head. “Emily clearly has no interest in Lucas. So why is Amelia so intent on ruining her reputation?”

Amelia shrank under the weight of every eye in the room, embarrassment and anger mingling on her flushed face. Every glance felt like a spotlight, each whispered judgment sharpening her humiliation.

Meanwhile, murmurs shifted, turning into admiration for Emily.

“Look at her… so many powerful men vying for her attention,” one guest whispered, eyes fixed on Emily. “First Lucas, then Harold, now Sebastian… and even someone like Jeremy? These aren’t ordinary men—they all have wealth, influence, power. She must be unbelievably charming!”

Every guest seemed to lean closer, straining to catch each word.

Amelia’s anger turned to panic as she realized the hall was no longer on her side. Doubt and suspicion now surrounded her, and all she could do was shrink beneath the collective gaze of the crowd, while Emily stood calmly beside Sebastian.
