She chuckled softly under her breath. “Public displays of affection have really become a trend these days.” she muttered under her breath. “Can’t they just wait until they get a room?”
Shaking her head in amusement, she began to look away—only for the couple to shift just enough for the man’s face to come into view.
Camila froze. She leaned forward, squinting.
“Isn’t that… my son?” she whispered to herself, peering closer. A second later, she gasped, her excitement bubbling over. “Is that my daughter-in-law?”
Chapter 21 No Trusting A Theif
Without another thought, Camila jumped out of the car, a wide smile lighting up her face as she started toward them. Halfway there, she glanced down at her empty hands and stopped short. With a small gasp, she spun back toward the car, opened her bag, and pulled out a credit card.
“I should at least give her a gift for our first meeting,” she murmured, tucking the card into her hand, her grin widening at the thought.
Clutching it, she turned back toward the spot where she had seen Sebastian and Emily. But to her dismay, the area was now empty.
Her eyes darted around, scanning every direction. “Where did they go so quickly?” she mumbled, disappointment settling over her face.

Emily reached for her bag and glanced outside. Nox enterprises stood just ahead, and she pushed the door open, ready to step out. Before she could, Sebastian caught her by the arm, gently tugging her back toward him.
She turned, surprised, and met his gaze. His hand came up to cradle her cheek, his eyes soft and intent as they studied her face. Then, with a faint smile, he pulled something from behind the seat—a bouquet bursting with pink orchids.
Emily’s eyes widened, surprise and delight lighting her expression.
She accepted the bouquet with both hands, her lips curving into a grateful smile. “Thank you so much. I love flowers!”
A low, possessive smile spread across Sebastian’s face. He swallowed the words that rose in his throat: “I know.”
He leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss to her cheek, lingering for a moment before pulling back to look into her eyes. His other hand came up to cradle her face.
“I really love it when you smile at me,” he murmured in a quiet, affectionate voice.
Emily’s cheeks warmed, her smile widening at his words. His eyes lit up at the sight, and he leaned in again, brushing another kiss against her other cheek. Pulling back, he spoke in a soft, earnest tone.
“If you’re ever in trouble, just call me. Don’t try to handle it on your own like the last time.”
Emily stared at him, momentarily lost in the depth of his gaze. Those eyes could make anyone drunk on the spot—intimate, penetrating, and now warm with affection. A strange thought crossed her mind: ‘How does he know so many ways to make a woman’s heart race when he’s never been in the news for dating anyone?’
She gave a faint, teasing smile. “You really know how to please a girl, don’t you, Mr. Graves?”
“I can do anything to please you, Mrs. Graves,” he murmured, voice smooth and low, like velvet sliding over her skin.
Before she could respond, his hands slipped beneath her legs, lifting her effortlessly onto his lap. His palm cupped the side of her neck, holding her in place as he leaned closer, brushing his lips lightly over hers, teasing before pressing fully against them.
“Can you always smile at me like this whenever I kiss you from now on?” he murmured, low and coaxing, letting his mouth linger over hers.
Her lips curved into a brighter smile, and she closed the tiny gap between them, pressing into a deep, breathless kiss. His tongue traced hers while one hand slid to the back of her head, threading into her hair, and the other arm tightened around her waist, holding her impossibly close.
He broke the kiss briefly, lips trailing down her jawline and along the curve of her neck, nipping softly before returning to claim her mouth again.

Across the street, a black car passed by. From inside, Lucas glanced out the window—and froze.
In that fleeting moment, he saw Emily. Sitting in another man’s lap. Arms around him.
His pulse spiked, panic and fury flashing through his eyes. “Stop the car! Drive back!” he barked at Taylor urgently. “I just saw Emily.”
