Adam planted both palms flat on the table with a loud slap, leaning forward. “Do you even know what your cousin has been doing out there?” Adam demanded, his voice laced with fury.
Sebastian frowned, the lines between his brows deepening. “What are you talking about? I don’t have time for riddles.”
“I’m talking about Harold,” Adam snapped. “He was fighting with Lucas over my sister just a while ago. He even got himself so badly injured, he ended up in the hospital.”
Sebastian shot to his feet instantly. He rounded the table in two quick strides until he stood right in front of Adam. “Explain. Now.”
Adam thrust his own phone at him. “Look at this.”
It was a video of Lucas and Harold’s fight at the Almaty Hotel—already spreading across social media. Sebastian’s eyes narrowed as he watched, his jaw flexing with every passing second. When the clip ended, he handed the phone back, his gaze cold.
He pulled out his own phone and dialed a number. The moment the call connected, his voice was hard, commanding.
“Take down every single article and video about Emily and Harold. I don’t care where it’s posted. Remove all of it.”
He ended the call, jaw still tight, sliding the phone back into his pocket.
Adam clapped him on the shoulder, his voice warm with appreciation. “You’re my best friend, Sebastian. You really understand what I’m going through.” He looked at Sebastian as if he were the most loyal and angelic man alive.
Then his tone shifted, curiosity replacing gratitude. “But tell me honestly—how did it even happen? Your cousin likes my sister enough to fight Lucas for her? When didthatstart?”
Sebastian’s fist tightened at his side, his eyes narrowing as tension rippled through his posture. His shoulders went rigid.
Adam didn’t notice the change and immediately straightened, jabbing a finger toward him. “I’m telling you right now—I’m not allowing Emily to date anyone, not even if he’s your brother. She just got out of that mess with Lucas. She’s not getting into another one.”
Sebastian shifted his weight, sliding one hand casually into his pants pocket. His voice was low, almost testing. “What if it’snot my brother? What if it’s me—your best friend—dating your sister?”
Chapter 20 Camila
Adam blinked at him for a moment, then burst into laughter.
Adam burst out laughing, shaking his head. “You’re joking? Come on—you wouldn’t like my sister! My sister is like your sister, right? There’s no way you’d make a move on her.” His certainty was almost smug.
Sebastian cleared his throat, hiding the flicker in his eyes. ‘I’ll only bring it up again when he’s in the right mood,’ he thought to himself.
Instead, he stepped closer, his gaze sharp and scolding. “Shouldn’t you be calling your sister right now? After such a big scene, shouldn’t you be protecting her and making sure she’s alright?”
Adam blinked, as if the thought had only just hit him. Panic crossed his face. “Damn, you’re right!” He fumbled for his phone. “You’re my real brother, Sebastian. You care about my sister even more than I do.”
Pulling out his phone, Adam quickly dialed Emily’s number. The call rang once, twice… on the third ring, Emily finally picked up.
“Where are you?” Adam demanded immediately.
Emily hesitated, silent for a moment, but his tone sharpened into ice. “I already know about the incident at that hotel. Tell me where you are—I’m coming to you.”
A soft sigh drifted through the line before Emily replied, “I’m at the hospital. I’ll send you the location.”
A moment later, the address pinged on his phone, and the call ended.
Inside the hospital, a doctor stepped out of the room and approached Emily. She met his gaze with a questioning look.
“Is Harold alright, doctor?” she asked.
“He’s better,” the doctor replied, “but he’s refusing to let any nurse touch him. He’s insisting you do the bandaging yourself.”
Emily frowned, tension gathering in her chest. She gave a small nod. “Alright. I’ll go inside.”
Beside her, Jeremy gave her a pointed look. She caught it immediately and gave his arm a light slap.
