“I’ll bring everything here. Get some more sleep—you slept late last night. I’ll wake you before it’s time to get ready.”

Emily exhaled a quiet sigh of relief, her eyes softening in gratitude. Sebastian noticed and began to slide under the blanket beside her, but she pushed at his chest with a laugh.

“Stop it,” she scolded with a small laugh.

He straightened, grinning down at her before bending to brush a kiss against her lips.

“Sleep,” he murmured, brushing his fingers against her cheek.

She nodded and closed her eyes, melting into the much-needed rest.

Sebastian headed into the washroom to freshen up, but before he could enter, her phone buzzed again in his pocket with a new text message.

Wondering if it was something important related to the launch today, he pulled out his phone and frowned.

The text on her phone was from Lucas.

He tapped on the message and read:I want to meet you today at five, at Café Amour.

Sebastian’s jaw clenched as he stared at the screen, his eyes flashing with jealousy and anger. Without hesitation, he pressed the delete button and erased the message.

Chapter 15 Harold

“Thank you, Mr. Cantrell,” a man said as he shook Lucas’s hand, praising him. “The designs are truly exceptional. We are looking forward to having them on the market soon.”

Lucas nodded politely and the man left. Once the hall was empty, his pleasant expression vanished. He turned to Dillon sharply.

“Why were there so few people today? Where was the media? Where were our usual connections? This was supposed to be a hundred-person event, and we barely had ten.”

Dillon shifted uneasily. “Mr. Cantrell… most of the guests went to another launch event—Miss Crawford’s product launch.”

Lucas’s eyes shot up to Dillon in surprise, and Dillon continued, “She has a product launch event today. It’s much bigger, with better connections and benefits. I think most of the people who were supposed to come to our launch party went to hers instead.”

Lucas’s eyes narrowed. “Emily? A product launch?” He frowned. “She’s just a small jewelry designer. Who’s investing in this?”

“It’s Jacob Nox, sir,” Dillon said. “And the Empire Group, to be exact. Sebastian Graves is their main investor.”

Lucas spun to face him, disbelief turning to irritation.

“How is that possible? At the last party, he only said she was his lead designer for a project. Now he’s investing in her projects too?” His jaw tightened.

Dillon shifted uneasily, thinking for a moment before answering, “Mr. Cantrell, I think it might have something to do with Miss Emily. They’ve been very close lately—seen together on several occasions.”

Lucas’s eyes darkened. “I’m meeting her at a restaurant tonight. I’ll get my answers then.”

“This looks perfect,” Emily murmured, pride warming her chest as she admired the hall. White roses lined the space, the lighting soft yet professional—everything set for the evening’s launch.

She placed her hands on her waist, surveying the final touches.

A tap on her shoulder made her turn—and she found herself face-to-face with a young man whose eyes lit up with recognition.

“Miss Emily, you’re here!” he said excitedly, his eyes flashing with surprise and excitement.

Emily’s eyes widened in surprise too. She took a step back, looking at the man from head to toe before meeting his gaze again. “Aren’t you… the escort from that bar that day?” she asked, suspicion in her eyes.

“Yes, I am! I’m Harold,” he said with an enthusiastic nod, clearly pleased she remembered.
