But the thought of losing Sebastian—of her family rejecting him—made her heart pound as though it would burst.

Sebastian released her hand and strode over to Adam, George, and Diana. He extended the stack of documents toward George. Adam, however, was faster. He snatched the papers from Sebastian, eyes scanning the contents with rapid intensity.

Diana leaned forward. “Adam… what is it?”

Silence.

Then, Adam lifted his head, his eyes snapping to Sebastian in shock. “Sebastian… he transferred all of his property under Emily’s name.”

Amelia stormed into Lucas’s house, her disheveled state and panicked expression immediately drawing Lucas’s and Taylor’s attention.

Reaching the couch, she stopped in front of Lucas, tears brimming in her eyes. “Lucas, can you please protect me?” she asked, voice trembling.

Lucas’s eyes met hers. Amelia continued, words tumbling out in a rush. “Sebastian has canceled all my contracts. He forced everyone in the industry to not hire me. Every deal I had… all gone. Even your board members sent me letters—saying I can’t be part of your projects because of this. I… I don’t want to be banned from the industry. Can you help me?”

Lucas leaned back casually on the couch, one hand stretched along the backrest, listening with an unnerving calmness.

There was a strange glint in his eyes—he didn’t even seem upset. In fact, there was a spark of excitement on his face.

When she finally stopped speaking, he tilted his head slightly, voice smooth, almost detached. “Since all your projects are canceled, our partnership is also over. We don’t have to continue pretending to be together any longer.”

Amelia nearly lost her mind hearing his words. Her eyes flashed with anger so fierce that she could barely breathe. He was sitting back on the couch, laid-back, completely unbothered, as though her panic and fury were irrelevant.

“Don’t you know why Sebastian did this? Cancel all my contracts?” she demanded, her voice trembling.

Before Lucas could answer, she gritted her teeth and snapped, “It’s because Emily seduced him and convinced him to do it to me!”

Lucas went still. His eyes flashed with anger instantly, and he shot to his feet, Taylor following closely behind.

Amelia continued, her voice rising, “Are you seriously going to overlook what Sebastian and Emily are doing to me? They’ve already publicly announced their relationship, everyone knows they’re together!”

Lucas’s jaw tightened, his eyes darkening with a cold, controlled fury. “She showed up at that party wearing that jewelry on purpose. I know her better than anyone! She just wanted to make me jealous.”

Amelia’s eyes blazed. “And how can you be so sure it was only to make you jealous?”

Lucas’s fists clenched at his sides, his chest rising with harsh breaths. He stared at her, eyes sharp as knives. “I saw it for myself. Every little detail. Every gesture. She wanted me to feel bad. Just because I hurt her, she is taking revenge.”

“I already had it checked,” Taylor stepped in and answered Amelia firmly. “Sebastian and Adam are friends. The only reason Sebastian would do this is for Adam—to make Emily happy. The misunderstandings between Lucas and Emily exist because of the accident and her lost memories. It doesn’t mean she doesn’t love Lucas. She’s just trying to provoke him.”

Lucas’s jaw tightened, his anger simmering beneath his controlled exterior. “She loves me. Once her anger cools, I’ll do everything I can to win her back.”

Amelia’s voice trembled with disbelief. “You really have been completely deceived by Emily.”

Lucas frowned. “What do you mean?”

“Do you seriously believe that she’s just pretending to be with Sebastian Graves just to make you jealous?” Amelia said sharply. “Even after he’s already promised to transfer all of his property to her as a wedding gift?!”

“What the fuck did you just say?!” Lucas repeated, his breath leaving his lungs as his face went pale within seconds.

“Both of them have already posted the photograph of their marriage certificate online, along with the wedding gift agreement Sebastian made for Emily,” Amelia said sharply, her voice cutting like a knife.

Lucas took a deep, shuddering breath, as if no thought could form in his mind. He placed his hands on his waist and spun away from Amelia, his exhale harsh and ragged. “I told you—she’s just acting!” he barked, his voice cracking with suppressed rage.

Taylor reached out, placing a hand on his shoulder. “Calm down, it’s all right. We’ll handle this situation—”

But Lucas snapped violently, ripping his hand off his shoulder and throwing it aside. His breath came in uneven, sharp bursts as he pivoted toward Amelia, eyes blazing. “Get out of my house! I told you—you’re not welcome here! Emily doesn’t want you here! I promised her I wouldn’t talk to you directly, so why doyou keep showing up in front of me? Get the fuck out of my house!”
