His forehead rested briefly against hers, his hand sliding from her hair to cradle her cheek, thumb stroking along her jawline. His breath was still uneven as he looked down at her, eyes lingering on her flushed face, the faint marks his mouth had left on her skin.
His thumb traced her cheekbone once more, his hand drifting to her waist as though memorizing the feel of her there. Then, with a final press of his lips to her temple, he straightened slowly, letting her go reluctantly, as if peeling himself away piece by piece.
Only after another lingering glance at her did Sebastian turn and leave from there, his shoulders still tense as he disappeared from her sight.
Adam was still sitting inside Emily’s office with his eyes closed when Sebastian walked in. He tapped him lightly on the shoulder, giving him a slight push to wake him.
Taking a seat next to him, Sebastian watched as Adam blinked awake, frowned, and asked, “What took you so long?”
Sebastian smirked and shrugged. “I had a little date with my girlfriend.”
Adam’s eyes snapped open, and he sat upright, curiosity instantly replacing sleepiness. “Your girlfriend is here?” heasked, surprised. “That’s rare for you. Why don’t you bring her here so I can meet her?”
“There’s no hurry,” Sebastian replied evenly. “You’ll meet her soon enough.”
Adam groaned. “I just want to see the beauty who has you completely hooked. You never even looked at another woman before, and now you’re doing everything to please her like a madman. What’s going on? I just want to meet her once.”
Sebastian didn’t answer, but his lips curved into a faint smirk.

With only two weeks left until Sebastian’s project reached completion, Nox Enterprises was in overdrive. Every department buzzed with urgency, deadlines on the calendars, and the air was thick with the tension of a company racing against the clock.
After Jacob asked Emily to come to the office, she headed to his room—only to find Harold already inside.
When Harold saw Emily, he quickly waved at her. “Miss Emily!”
Emily smiled and waved back before walking over to Jacob. She stopped in front of his desk.
Jacob motioned toward Harold. “The assistant helping you has been removed due to poor performance,” Jacob said casually. He pointed toward Harold. “Harold has been managing the project with Empire Group, so now he’ll be your new assistant on this project.”
“I’m so excited to work with you, Miss Emily!” Harold beamed. “You’re such a great designer—I never imagined I’d get the chance.”
Emily looked at him with the same level of excitement, her eyes twinkling as she smiled at Harold. “I’m also excited to work with you. It’s going to be fun,” she said.
Harold grinned even wider. “How about we celebrate? Dinner’s on me. Since you’ll be teaching me designs soon, I want to thank you properly.”
An hour later, Harold, Jacob, and Emily went to have dinner at the restaurant across the street. Jeremy called Jacob, and upon hearing they were going for dinner, decided to join them at the restaurant.
All of them sat together at a table and started eating after the food arrived. While sitting down, Emily texted Sebastian: ‘Don’t wait for me tonight. I’m having dinner outside.’
Jeremy, sitting beside her, glanced at her neck. “What happened there?” he asked, leaning in with a louder voice. “You need to take care of yourself. It looks like there are mosquitoes in your office.”
Emily’s cheeks burned at his words. Her head snapped to the side as she hurriedly swept her hair forward, letting the loose strands fall like a curtain over her neck. Shame knotted in her stomach, and she pressed her lips together, choosing silence over explanation.
None of them noticed when another figure approached their table until she stopped right in front of them.
Amelia’s gaze swept the group—lingering on Emily before flicking to the men seated around her. Her lips curled into a mocking smile.
“Already flirting with Lucas,” she drawled. “And now you’ve got three more around you? Trying to seduce them too?”
Jeremy didn’t even blink. Without missing a beat, he seized the fork, spoon, and the stack of tissues in his plate, launching them with pinpoint aim straight at Amelia’s face.
Amelia flinched, stumbling back, her heart jolting as the items clattered against the floor near her feet. She stared at Jeremy, mouth parted in disbelief.
“There are so many flies around me lately,” Jeremy said loudly, his voice laced with annoyance. “The constant buzzing isso damn annoying.”
Amelia’s jaw tightened, her eyes narrowing into slits before snapping back to Emily. “Not only are you seducing Lucas, but now you’re openly dining with three men—trying to lure them into your bed? Do you have any shame?”
