Chapter 24 I’m Not Your Property

He moved a few steps up and down but found no one. Frustrated, he slid his phone back into his pocket and returned inside the office building again.

Sebastian’s gaze never left Emily, burning through her like fire. “What is he doing here?” he asked, his voice low and tense.

Emily’s heart rate began to slow, panic easing. “I… I don’t know. He must have had something to discuss with Jacob. I wasn’t aware he was coming here today.”

Sebastian’s jaw tightened. He released his hold slightly, sliding his hands into his pockets as he stepped back, though his gaze remained dangerous. “Looks like your ex-boyfriend is still in love with you,” he muttered. Tilting his head slightly, his eyes darkened with a dangerous gleam. “You really are quite charming, aren’t you, Mrs. Graves?”

Emily stayed quiet, feeling the heat of his stare. His eyes dropped from her face to the exposed neckline of her dress, then trailed down her body, filled with growing anger.

In the next instant, Sebastian lunged. His hand clamped around her waist, yanking her flush against him while the other slid up to cradle the back of her head, holding her still.

His mouth crashed onto her neck, lips moving over her skin in rough, demanding kisses. He bit down lightly at first, then harder, his teeth scraping against the curve of her neck before his tongue swept over the sting, soothing the spot he’d just claimed.

Emily twisted in his hold, her palms pressing weakly against his chest, but he didn’t let up. His lips trailed lower, then back up, biting, licking, sucking until her skin burned under the attention, damp and hot where his mouth had been.

“Sebastian—” she gasped, pushing at him harder, but his grip only tightened for another second as his mouth claimed one last spot, sucking until the skin flushed red beneath his lips.

Finally, she shoved him away with both hands, breaking free. Her fingers flew to her neck, feeling the fresh mark throbbing under her touch, face tightening in pain as she stared at him. “It hurts,” she whispered, her voice trembling as her hand covered the tender, swollen skin he had just left behind.

“It hurts because it’s your punishment,” Sebastian murmured, pulling her closer. His lips dipped to the other side of her neck, leaving another mark, his teeth grazing the spot while his tongue traced over it.

Emily’s breath hitched, a mix of pain and pleasure making her knees buckle. She pushed him back roughly, snapping, “I haven’t done anything bad! Why are you punishing me?” Her voice trembled slightly.

Sebastian’s eyes burned into hers.

She stepped back, trying to regain composure, and said in a low voice, “Lucas is clearly testing me. I’m not chasing after him. He’s the one trying to get me back.”

Sebastian’s eyes darkened, sharp and dangerous. “I have only one question.” He closed the space between them in a heartbeat, his hands gripping her wrists and pinning them to the wall above her head. One hand cupped her jaw, tilting her face up so she had no choice but to meet his piercing gaze. “Is he testing you—or are you enjoying that fucking chase because you can’t forget him?”

Emily’s fingers curled into tight fists at her sides, her nails biting into her palms. “I’m not enjoying anything! I don’t even want the memory of him in my head.”

Sebastian stepped in, closing the space until his presence felt suffocating. His grip on her wrists was firm enough to remind her he was in control, but not enough to hurt. His eyes burned into hers. “Did he kiss you?”

Emily faltered under his intensity but answered softly, “Not since we broke up.” Her gaze hardened. “He’s my past. I can’t erase it. I did love him once, but I don’t feel anything for him anymore.” Then her voice rose. “And I’m not your property! Why are you always so dominating when it comes to me?!”

His jaw flexed, and his hold on her jaw tightened just slightly—not in anger, but with a desperate edge. His face lowered until his lips hovered an inch from hers, the heat of his breath brushing against her skin. For a heartbeat, it felt like he might claim her mouth.

But instead, he drew back, his voice low and rough, almost a growl. “I can’t stand the thought that you have feelings for another man.”

The raw honesty in his words stole her breath.

Her stiff shoulders eased, and the tension in her stance melted just enough to let a faint, teasing smile curl her lips. “So… you’re jealous?”

His eyes darkened further. “Yes,” he admitted. “I’m very jealous. The thought of you with another man makes me… do things you can’t even imagine.” He pulled her closer, his face nuzzling her neck near her ear, his voice soft but possessive. “You are only mine now. You have to accept it.”

Emily’s lips curved into a soft smile, her earlier defiance melting into something warmer. Slowly, she slipped her wrists free from his hold, her fingertips brushing against his skin as if lingering on purpose. She stepped into him, closing the gap between their bodies, and wrapped her arms around his solid frame, hugging him.

Leaning in, her breath was warm against his ear as her lips grazed it in a tender kiss. Her voice dropped to a whisper. “Alright… from now on, I’m only yours. I’ll be with you, and no one else. I promise.”

Sebastian’s body relaxed at her words, but his fingers tightened around her back, holding her against him as though he couldn’t let her go. His hand slid up slowly, threading into her hair, tilting her head to the side so her neck was exposed to him.

He bent lower, his breath brushing over her skin before his lips found the hickey he’d left there earlier. His tongue traced the mark in a slow circle, the wet heat gliding over the tender skin, easing the faint sting beneath his mouth.

He licked along the edge of the bruise, moving in long, delicate strokes before pulling it between his lips, sucking lightly, leaving her skin damp and throbbing under his mouth. His tongueswept lower, then higher, teasing the sensitive curve where her neck met her shoulder, the warmth of his mouth lingering with every slow, wet drag.

Only when she trembled faintly against him did he finally draw back, his lips brushing once more over the spot in a softer kiss, sealing the heat he’d left behind.
