He continued, voice teasing, “Wait a little longer, and you’ll have grandkids in your arms before you know it.”

Emily blinked in surprise, staring up at him, wondering what exactly he meant by that.

Sebastian caught her hesitation and pulled her even closer, bending down to press a gentle kiss on her cheek. His hand cradled the side of her neck as he carried on speaking to his mother.

“You’re just making me excited for nothing,” Camila’s voice cracked with scolding fury over the phone. “How do you expect to give me grandkids when you don’t even have a real girlfriend? Are you planning on giving birth yourself?”

Her exasperation was clear. Despite having three sons, none of them had married yet, and Camila’s impatience was only growing.

Camila’s tone sharpened, deadly serious. “Get back home immediately, or don’t show me your face again!”

Then she hung up.

Sebastian slid the phone into his pocket and turned to Emily. He cupped her face, pressing his lips to hers immediately.

His tongue slipped past her lips, exploring, tracing, circling, while his teeth nipped gently at her bottom lip. He sucked on it for a moment before pulling back just slightly, then dove in again, pressing his mouth harder, moving over hers, tasting, claiming, leaving her gasping for air.

His lips traveled tenderly over her jaw, then her neck, licking and sucking at the soft skin, making her shiver. He finally pulled back, voice soft and filled with affection.

“Let’s go home. I’ll drop you off.”

“Okay,” Emily managed, still catching her breath.

He took her hand and led her to the car, helping her inside.

Sebastian arrived at the Graves estate—a sprawling mansion of old wealth, all marble floors and towering windows, now kept by his mother after his father’s passing. She had chosen to stay there alone, unwilling to leave the house filled with memories.

As he stepped inside, his eyes scanned the room for Camila, but his steps faltered when they landed on an unexpected guest lounging on the living room couch.

“Mr. Graves,” Amelia greeted him, her eyes sultry beneath the short dress she wore, her gaze soft yet calculating as it locked onto him.

Chapter 14 He Deserved It

Amelia turned toward Camila again, voice lowering to a timid, almost innocent tone. “Mrs. Graves, you can ask Sebastian. I’m not lying. Sebastian was the one who started the fight and hurt Lucas so badly at the bar that he couldn’t even walk afterward. His face was covered in bruises when he walked out of the bar that night.”

Sebastian’s expression hardened instantly. “It’s Mr. Graves, to you,” he snapped coldly.

Sebastian ignored Amelia completely, not even acknowledging her greeting. He strode past her and settled onto the couch directly across from Camila.

Elegant in a dark green silk blouse and diamonds that caught the light when she moved, Camila looked every bit the poised society matriarch. Her perfectly styled hair framed a face that held power in every line.

Camila’s eyes snapped to Sebastian, burning with anger. “You got into a fight with Mr. Cantrell? What have you been doing recently? Since when do you pick needless fights with people?”

Sebastian leaned back, his expression cool and unbothered. “He deserved it.”

Camila’s fingers clenched tightly around the glass of water in her hand. With a sharp motion, she slammed it down on the glass table, the noise echoing in the room. “Explain yourself. Clearly.”

Sebastian’s face softened with a touch of innocence—the same expression he’d worn earlier when convincing Adam about Lucas hurting Emily. “He was trying to take a girl away by force. Do you think it’s right to drag a woman out of a bar against her will? Especially when she’s already broken up with him?”

Silence.

A moment later, Camila’s anger eased slightly, though tension still hung in the air. Before she could respond, Amelia quickly interjected, her voice gentle and sweet.

“Mr. Graves, this is between a couple. They haven’t officially broken up,” Amelia said, trying to sound kind. Then, turning pleading eyes to Camila, she added, “You should understand, Mrs. Graves—they’re just having a little fight.”

Then she glanced back at Sebastian, lowering her voice. “Because of the hurt you caused Lucas, he’s missed a lot of meetings and projects. Mr. Graves, you should make amends.”
