“Leave now. Be back within ten minutes. I’ll be at the hotel I stayed in last night.”

“Yes, sir. I’ll get it right now.” Leon rushed out.

As soon as Leon left, Sebastian moved with urgency. He grabbed his phone, wallet, and suit jacket, all with a rare rush in his steps. Just as he was about to exit the office, the door opened—and in walked Adam Crawford, one of his closest friends.

“Where the hell are you going at this hour?” he asked, raising an eyebrow and walking right past him to enter the office. “You’ve been in the office for barely ten minutes, and now you’re leaving?”

Sebastian halted, then turned and walked toward the leather couch in the corner of his office.

“Nowhere,” he replied, sitting down like he had all the time in the world.

Adam followed and dropped beside him. His gaze narrowed as he observed Sebastian closely.

He watched Sebastian settle in with a surprisingly satisfied look on his face. His usual composed demeanor had been replaced with something unrecognizable—almost boyish.

“You seem way too pleased for someone who just stormed out of a board meeting,” Adam muttered, eyeing him curiously. “Did someone serve you dessert in bed this morning?”

Sebastian’s lips twitched. “Maybe someone did.”

Adam’s gaze dropped—and froze. “Wait. What’s with your neck? What are those... red marks?”

Sebastian instinctively reached up, fingers brushing over the side of his neck. Realizing what Adam meant, he raised a brow.

Adam leaned closer, eyes wide. “Don’t tell me... Are thosebite marks?”

“What do youthinkit is?” Sebastian asked coolly. “What does it look like?”

Adam choked on a laugh. “Please. You? With a woman? You don’t evenlikethe sight of women. You glare them into silence before they can even flirt with you. I’d believe in aliens before I’d believe you hooked up with someone. Even mosquitoes must think twice before biting you.”

Sebastian smirked, but inside, he was holding back a chuckle. ‘That mosquito? She's your sister, brother.’

But he didn’t say it. Instead, he stood up, fixing the cuffs of his sleeves.

“I’ve got somewhere to be. Lock up after you’re done playing detective in my office.”

“You’re serious?” Adam stared. “You’re kicking me out already?”

Sebastian didn’t answer.

He was already out the door.

An hour later, Sebastian arrived back at the Velare Blue hotel.

Leon was waiting at the entrance, holding a bag. Without stopping, Sebastian took it and headed straight to the elevators, pressing the top-floor button with urgency in his fingertips.

As he reached the suite, he didn’t knock.

He wanted to catch her still asleep—peaceful, warm, wrapped in his sheets.

He entered quietly.

“Emily?”

Sebastian’s deep voice echoed through the suite the second he stepped in. The silence hit him first—thick, cold, wrong. His gaze darted around the room.

The bed was empty.
