“I said you could touch my hair, not undo it. You’re such a brat.” The world and everyone but us stopped as she opened her mouth. “But you have such a beautiful cock.” She took a deep breath, smiled, and licked the tip of my painfully hard length. “So smooth,” she sighed before wrapping her lips around me.

Her palms rested on my thighs, pushing against me as she slid over me, once, twice, three times. Her right hand shifted, caressing my balls briefly before gripping me. While fisting my base, she took me deeper, moaning as her tongue swirled. “Are you sure you haven’t done this before?” I grunted as she hollowed her cheeks.

“Does it feel good, Nate? I want to please you.”

“Yes, Evie. Fuck, yes. It’s amazing. You’re gonna make me come so fast.” She looked up at me and smiled, then doubled her speed, bobbing up and down, taking me deeper and deeper, gagging, eyes watering. I tried to pull away, not wanting her to be uncomfortable, but she gripped my ass with her left hand and pulled me even closer.

“I want this,” she sighed, my dick still between her lips.

The sight before me was too much and no way near enough. The sexiest moment of my life. Evie was on her knees, my hand was tugging her hair, my hips thrusting. I was fucking Evie Austen’s mouth and was on the brink of the most embarrassingly fast, mind-bending orgasm. Every muscle in my body tensed as I pulsed on her tongue. I closed my eyes, waiting for the rush of heat and relief. I could feel it coming… With apopI felt in my bones, she pulled away, sprung to her feet, and slapped my cheek. Not to be dramatic, but it felt like she’d sucked my insides out, leaving a horny, hollow, empty shell of a man. “See how in control I am?”

She pressed her finger to my lips and winked, then sashayed her hot ass in that criminally tight skirt away, grabbing her robe off its hook as she entered the bathroom and locked the door. What the fuck just happened?

In one move, Evie had handed me a painful reminderandtaught me a valuable lesson. I may have had more experience in the bedroom, but she was the boss, my teacher. I was merely the dumb kid lucky enough to be along for the ride. And as fun as it was, as strong as a role she played, Evie had exposed a side of herself that may have left her feeling vulnerable.

Again, I realized how lucky I was to be here with her and to experience any of what she shared. I moved to the door, rested my hand, and still flushed cheek on the cool and refreshing wood, and knocked.

“Are you okay, Eves? I’m sorry for how I reacted earlier. We’re good, yeah?”

I heard her long, shaken exhale. “Not gonna lie, Nate. I’m still kind of pissed, but yeah, we are good. Or we will be once I calm down. I’m going to take a bath. Thank you for…for listening and accepting. No one’s ever seen me like you do, and I think you might know how raw that can feel, ‘cause I think I’m the first to see the real you too.”

It’s not easy to explain the impact those words had. Even while adorning her with the greatest esteem for years, I knew I hadgrosslyunderestimated that woman.

Skating on thin ice was not a new hobby of mine, but after apologizing and an hour or so of semi-silent treatment from Eviewitha semi that wouldn’t budge, dodging the cracks became a little too perilous. So, as many generations of Australian men had done before, I left the little lady at home and went to the pub. As I fled, an SOS was dispatched to Finn and my new mate, Teddy, begging them in the manliest way possible to join, commiserate, and get drunk with me. Twenty minutes later, Teddy burst through the door, looking as though he’d run the whole way from the office he shared with Scarlett and Finn, and the latter joined us as soon as he got home from Iris’s dance class. Taking the stool beside me and ordering his favorite Aussie beer, a James Squire One Fifty Lashes Pale Ale, he sighed and shook his head. “What did you do? Evie is next-level shitty.”

I shook my head and looked up to the giant TV replaying the Australian Football Grand Final—our version of the Super Bowl. “Trust me, mate. You don’t want to know.”

“Well, I do,” complained Teddy. “And I’ve been trying to get it out of him since I got here, Finn. My usual trick of getting you so drunk you spill all your secrets isn’t working. Nate holds his alcohol much better than you.” Finn looked offended for a second before nodding in agreement and sipping from his beer. “Holy shit!” Teddy yelled suddenly. “Nate, your little spat with Evie doesn’t have anything to do with a certain leather, lace, and rough loving, would it?”

Before I could answer, Finn climbed off his stool. “Fuck this, I’m out.”

“Sit down, you clod.” Teddy laughed, grabbing Finn by the arm, and pulling him back down. “Your sister is a big girl with a healthy sexual appetite. She’s not doing or receiving anything you’re not giving or receiving from Scar.”

“Oh, God,” he groaned again and buried his face in his hands. “This is not happening.”

“Shut it, Finn, or Nate will become my favorite and usurp the title of Captain Koala, and I know how much you love that shit.” Teddy turned to me. “So, was it the outfit or not?”

“Itmayhave been involved, but I can neither confirm nor deny. How do you know about it, anyway?”

Teddy gripped onto my bicep and squeezed. “I took her shopping. I tried to talk her into some whips and cuffs too, but she was too intimidated. So how did it go? Did she spank you? Fuck, she spanked you, and you freaked out, didn’t you?”

“Really? I have to leave.” A pale and clammy Finn guzzled his beer and fled before we could stop him. He didn’t leave, though. He just moved to a table out of earshot behind us.

“There was no spanking. It was alluded to, but she blue-balled me before we got to that point, and I absolutely, one hundred percent, kind of, maybe didn’t deserve it… but also kinda did.”

“Look at you taking responsibility…kinda. And if it makes you feel any better, I’m going through something similar myself with Asher.”

“He’s into spanking too?”

He sighed and glumly sipped from his drink. “I wish. No, he dumped me and blocked my number.”

I studied him for a moment, not sure if he was serious. “Sorry, mate, really. But how is that similar to Evie’s and my situation?”

“It’s not at all. I just needed to get it off my chest and wanted to make it about me.” Our shoulders shook with silent laughter.

“Teddy, I find your frankness incredibly refreshing. It’s a trait you share with Evie and one of the things I love most about her. She’s normally the most brutally honest person I know. You always know how she feels, and she doesn’t have to say a word. Her face willalwaystell the truth. That’s how I know she loves me. I see it every time she looks at me.” I finished my beer and signaled the cute bartender for another one. She winked at me as she took my empty glass, and I realized that, in a different time, I would have been on her like a rash.I really have changed.“The thing is, I thought doing everything I could to show her how I feel, being patient, and giving her time would help her open up, but I’m starting to have my doubts. I was so convinced she would come home with me, Teddy. I don’t know what I’ll do if she doesn’t.”

Slapping his hand on my shoulder way harder than needed, Finn resumed his seat next to me. “What I’m about to do makes me sick to my very core, so you better listen ‘cause I am only gonna say it once.” He took a deep breath and slapped his own thigh for encouragement. “Nate, she loves you, mate. I see it too, and believe me, I’ve tried bloody hard not to. You’re her favorite person in the world. She thinks the sun shines out of your ass, and she always has, and I’ve seen her smile more in the time you’ve been here than I have since Mum and Dad died. The bigger the cow she is to you, the more she cares, and that’s why she calls you an idiot so much. To her, that’s a term of endearment and as good as a formal declaration of love. And finally, Evie needs to feel needed. Important. Useful. She loves bossing Jocie, Iris, and me around because it gives her a sense of purpose. She’s only just found her job and is just getting to know people here. If she left us, she’d be back to no job and no family to take care of. Plus, as much as she has a go at me for the same thing, she would have no control. If you want her to come home with you, you need to find her a purpose and let her think she thought of it. That’s the key.”
