Finn’s elbow bumped my arm, my thighs clenched together, and my thoughts returned to where they should be. My attraction to him had hit the next level since I had slid my foot between his legs. It was only two hours ago, but it felt like an eternity.
Damn, I want him to kiss me.
My eyes drifted back to his face, and his gaze locked on my mouth. “This staring is becoming a habit, Mr. Austen. At work, in the car, and now in the cinema. You’re supposed to be watching the movie, not me.”
“Hmm. That’s very hypocritical of you, Grant. You were looking at me too. And honestly, you’re much prettier and more entertaining than Big Nose.”
He pointed to the screen as I chewed on my lip and giggled. “Well, stop. It’s quite distracting.”
“Fine. You do the same, then.”
“Fine.”
I managed to look at the screen for maybe twenty seconds when Finn shifted in his seat and again stole my attention. His hot breath tickled my face, and a featherlight kiss was planted on the swell of my cheek. Goosebumps covered my flesh, so he made them worse by brushing them with his thumb and kissing me again. This time, adding a hint of tongue. “You’re beautiful, Red.” Nuzzling into the crook of my neck, he took the lobe of my ear in his teeth and bit it gently.
“Should you be doing that?” I sighed, leaning into him and praying he didn’t stop. “We shouldn’t do this. Everyone can see us.”
“We shouldn’t. We definitely shouldn’t. But we also absolutely should.” He backed up his words by sweeping the hair from my neck, peppering my collarbone with a series of kisses, and licking his way back to my ear.
“Scarlett.”
“Yes, Finn.”
“Meet me behind the cinema.”
He was up and out of his seat before I could react. Chasing after him while tearing off my clothes like I wanted wasn’t an option. I had to wait.
Be discreet. Inconspicuous.
I planted my ass in the seat, sunk my nails into the disturbingly stained velvet arms, and tried to resist watching him bound up the stairs. My heart pounded so hard, I was sure everyone would hear it and instantly know what was happening. This was going to change everything. For me. For Finn. Maybe for our careers.
Relax, Scarlett. Relax. It’s just a man. Just a kiss.
A flash of light in my periphery turned my headjustas he glanced over his shoulder, gave me a cheeky wink, and then disappeared through the doors.
“Holy shit. Am I doing this?” I muttered.
A hand came to rest on my shoulder, and a soft, deep voice whispered in my ear, “Why are you still sitting?”
Patchouli cologne hit me, and I turned to find Theodore’s mouth oddly close to my ear. “What?” My head spun left and right. “When did you even get here?”
“I can sense sex, Scar. I got here just in time to see him eating your neck. Now, go get him.”
“Oooohhhh, I don’t know if I should, Teddy. My ideologies strictly—”
“Fuck your rules,” Teddy said, digging his fingers into my skin. “You’ve spent your life trying to make everyone around you happy. It’s time for you to be happy too.”
The French guy fell off his bike, and laughter rolled through the theater. Teddy gave me a quick pat on the arm and kissed the top of my head. “Go.”
“Christ on a bike! I’m gonna do it.” I made my break. “Sorry, bathroom.” I winced as I squeezed past a series of squashed legs. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have had the large drink.”
Absconding from a work function to make out with a colleague who had friend-zoned me only to have me ignore that and feel up his dick with my foot as he ate was a new low. One that had me so excited and terrified I could hardly breathe.
I left the safety of the cinema and my scared, but horny, English ass hit the mean streets—well, one alley—of New York.
“Finn? Finn?” He was nowhere in sight. But the minute my foot turned the corner at the rear of the building, a familiar scent and strong hands possessed me. All air was forced from my lungs as a muscular arm hooked around my waist and pushed me against the wall. He held me there with one hand and ran the other along my side till he cupped my cheek. “I want you, Scarlett.” His gaze dropped to my lips.
“I do too. Want you, I mean, not me. But I have to say this first.”
