In every sense of the world.

“Hello again.”

“God, I hoped I’d never see you again,” she snapped, her anger covering up the fact that I’d startled the shit out of her. “What are you doing here?”

“Careful,” I warned her softly, stopping five feet from here. “Or you’ll earn yourself a punishment.”

“And you’ll earn yourself a bullet.”

Fuck, her fire was such a goddamn turn on. Nobody, and I meantnobodyever spoke to me like that. It made me want to tame her even more. To see how her eyes turned a shade darker when she craved my touch. My mouth.

Just like she did that night.

I beckoned her with a finger. “Come here.”

A hunger roared in my chest, deep and consuming, demanding another taste of her. I had been dreaming of her for years, and now that she was so close to me, it was hard not to go all in. Demand her submission. Her body. Her soul.

Her eyes flashed like two blue lightning bolts. “I’m not a dog, Tyrant.”

God, I’d love to fill her mouth with my cock. Heat rushed to my groin and instantly my dick twitched, on board with that image. Though judging by the look on Tatiana’s beautiful face, she would more likely try to bite it off.

Contempt spread through my veins like a Siberian winter. Her soft curves under that hideous black tempted and invited. She was mine. She had always been mine.

In one swift move, I grabbed her by the chin using two fingers.

“No more hiding shit,” I drawled. “What have you found?”

TWENTY-ONE

TATIANA

His fingers were rough and possessive.

It didn’t hurt but it did something to my insides. Confusion swelled inside me. What was happening to me? Every time this man came around me, my body responded. My blood ran hotter and my heart thundered harder.

The note burned in the palm of my hand. It was written in Adrian’s handwriting.

I go on. Standing in the shadows.

It was cryptic. Confusing. Bottom line, the note made no fucking sense.

Sliding it into my pocket, I decided to deal with one problem at a time. First, I had to handle this devil who seemed to be stalking me. Fucking villains. Always stalkers. I bet he’d get along swell with my brothers.

Ugh.

“You should come with a warning sign,” I grumbled. “Stalker alert. Beware!”

Konstantin leaned closer, his cologne, citrusy and so damn familiar, swelling all my senses. Forgetting the scrunched up note in my pocket and my attitude, I closed my eyes, fighting this unfamiliar urge deep inside me. To submit. To let him dominate me.

For the first time ever, I wanted to get on my knees. The urge confused me. Terrified me.

Yet, now as our gazes clashed, confusion swam thick through me. The past and present blurred in my mind. Adrian and Konstantin. There was a key piece of information I was missing. Or maybe I forgot it.

I couldn’t blame the alcohol. I hadn’t touched it since I arrived in D.C.

“Tell me what you found, moya luna,” he drawled in a lazy tone that did things to me. Something tickled the back of my mind, but refused to come forward. “Tell me and I’ll reward you.” This villain wasn’t easily distracted for sure. Although his seductive tone certainly distracted me. “Trust me, you’ll like it.” His breath brushed against my earlobe. His scent was addictive and mind numbing. “In fact, you’ll like it so much you’ll be screaming my name for the entire state to hear.”

A shudder rolled down my spine. Every inch of my skin was on fire. I felt the drumming of blood in my ears, but my stubbornness took over. I pushed my lightheaded, intoxicating feelings out of my mind, leaving me with determination. To focus. To make sure he didn’t find the clue Adrian left me. If Konstantin decided to search me, he’d find it. So I’d use my wiles.
