He growled into my ear playfully, his hands lowering down my belly and between my thighs. “You’re ready for me,” he groaned in satisfaction.
Pleasure rocketed through me at the brush of his fingers against my sensitive clit. I couldn’t help but roll my ass back against his erection. He grabbed my hip, and I thought he was going to stop me. He didn’t. He ground me harder against him. Heat drifted and tightened between my legs as I rolled my hips, nothing but the rustle of sheets and the sound of our breaths disturbing the cocoon of our room. I turned in his arms, and he rolled onto his back so I could once again straddle him.
The way he watched me made me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world. It didn’t matter to him that I had gained forty pounds, or that my boobs were the size of melons and my stomach was as big as a watermelon.
He ran his hands up my thighs, his half-lidded eyes taking in my naked body. He touched me everywhere and it still seemed not to be enough. He did it again, then brought his palms to my belly feeling for that little life inside me.
The little life he claimed and murmured soft words to. And there was nothing more erotic than that to me. A tough papa bear melting for the little unborn life inside me.
My gaze dropped to his lips and I leaned in to kiss him. He met me halfway.
And I realized, he always met me halfway.

Three hours later,we were both showered and dressed. I opted for a powder blue, maternity maxi dress that hugged my body and outlined my belly. He put on a pair of jeans that made his ass fucking finer, if that was even possible. I bet men around the globe were jealous of that fine looking ass, and he was all mine.
“Round four?” he suggested, catching me red handed staring at his ass.
His gray Ralph Lauren sweater accentuated his olive skin and made his eyes appear lighter. His sporty Rolex watch gave him a casual, yet expensive vibe. He did well disguising his ruthlessness, but I knew he had a gun tucked in the back. He wore dark loafers and a woolen coat in gray. I had given up a coat in my third trimester. I was a furnace all the time.
“I’d make it worth your while,” he murmured against my lips.
I shook my head. “Then I’d need a nap.”
“You can nap. I can get a driver to take me to the airport.”
I shook my head. “No. I’ll see you off like a proper wife.”
He must have liked that answer because he pecked me on the cheek and dropped the subject. I grabbed my purse as he took a firm hold of my hand and we walked towards the elevator.
“Make sure you come back fast,” I told him as we entered the elevator. “Who’s going to watch movies with me tonight?”
He gave me that boyish, dashing smile. “I called your brothers. I asked them to keep an eye on you until I’m back. I told them you like to watch old movies, so they said they’re bringing their own movie collection.”
I groaned out loud. “Luca,” I protested. “Why would you do that?”
“My bride won’t be alone.”
“I’m no longer a bride and I’m fine being alone,” I snickered. I certainly didn’t need a babysitter in the form of my brothers.
His lips curved softly. “Do it for me then. I’ll worry less.”
That alone told me he had a lot on his mind. “Fine,” I sighed. “Just this once.”
Our eyes met in the reflection, the soft expression on his face had my boundaries shredding to nothing. In fact, they might be burned to ashes. He had embedded himself in every piece of me.
“Thank you, mia moglie.” God, I loved it when he called me his wife. In English, in Italian. Any damn language. As long as he called me his.
The doors opened, and he guided me out toward another section of the garage. He led me to a sleek Range Rover.
“Want to drive your car or mine?” he questioned. “It’s all ours but which one do you want to test run first?”
“Let’s do yours,” I mused, bumping my shoulder into his. “That way if I crash it, mine is still intact.”
He threw his head back and laughed. A true, carefree laugh that filled my chest with warmth and touched me deep in my heart. It was unsettling. It was fragile. He opened the door for me, helped me in like the gentleman he wasn’t, then rounded the car to get beside me.
My eyes flickered to the backseat. As expected, Luca got top of the line everything. But what was unexpected was the car seat that already sat installed and ready to go.
