Unwilling thoughts crossed my mind. “You’re going to throw me overboard, aren’t you?” I whispered, my hand still in his. “I’m going to go swimming with the fishes.” It happened inThe Godfather.

His booming laugh filled the small space. His body actually shook from it, and inadvertently, my hand shook too.

“Davina, throwing you overboard would be a waste,” he rumbled and my sharp sigh vibrated through the air. “I plan on getting my money’s worth. I will fuck you so hard, you’ll never want another man. You’re mine now.”

Holy fuck, I loved the possessiveness etched in his voice. He was equally part dominant and possessive.

“If you’re going swimming with the fishes,” he concluded, “... so am I. The fish can watch as I thrust into your tight, little cunt and fill you with my seed.”

Wetness pooled between my thighs, and I shifted uncomfortably, the ache pulsing with the need to have him deliver on those words.

“Are you always so controlling?” I asked him curiously.

“I’ve never been that great at sharing,” he admitted without any hint of guilt. Not that he had to feel any. “Does it bother you?”

I tilted my head. “No, in this matter, it does not bother me.”

“When does control bother you?” He seemed genuinely interested to know.

“Hmm.” I thought for a moment. “Well, my grandfather always says that when I set my mind on a goal, no amount of wild horses could hold me back. So I guess you better not try to control me then.”

His deep chuckle filled the space between us.

“It means you’re determined,” he said, glancing over at me. “It’s a good quality to have.”

“Thanks. It drove my grandfather crazy at times.” To this day, I remembered when I decided it was time I knew who my parents were. I nagged and researched, until he finally had to sit me down and tell me that my parents didn’t want children without revealing much else. But he did it gently, and told me I was his greatest treasure.

“So just to be clear,” I added. “I give you what you want and you let me keep the money. No chance of taking it back. Correct?”

“Correct.”

I had to admit it didn’t feel like a hardship really. I’ve been fantasizing about him for the past three months, waiting for him to come and collect his debt. Yet he never did.

Until now.

Yet, it felt like I was getting a better deal again.

“You’re very close to your grandfather.” I nodded.

“I am. He was my mom, dad, and everything in between,” I admitted softly.

“What are your plans after graduation?” he asked casually.

A tiniest flicker passed Liam’s expression, but I couldn’t hone in on it.

“I’m going to get a job. Preferably using my degree and then I’d like to bring my grandfather where I am.”

“Hmmm.”

“Did you go to college or did you-” My words faltered. I didn’t want to sound rude.

“I went to Princeton,” he answered. “So did my father.”

“Oh, I thought your father lived in Ireland.” I was fairly certain that was what Juliette told me.

“You’re right, he does now. But back then, he only visited Ireland and spent most of his time here in the States.”

“Does he visit?”
