My phone started to ring and I groaned when I saw it was my ex-boyfriend. I chose not to answer and sent him to voicemail. Though one good thing came out of it - Juliette’s and Ivy’s groaning.

“Man, who’s calling you so early?” Juliette groaned, burying her face into the pillow.

“Nobody.” Glancing at the clock on the side table, I continued, “It’s almost ten, definitely not early. Let’s get up, eat, and get going. I have an afternoon shift at the coffee shop.”

Besides, I couldn’t risk running into Mr. Brennan. I’ve had my share of embarrassment to last me the entire year and this year had barely gotten started.

“You should have taken Sunday off,” Ivy mumbled.

I glanced at the spot where Wynter slept last night and found her seated, her face in her book. She probably already did a ten mile run, ate, and came back to study.

“Morning, sleeping beauties,” Wynter drawled. “I thought you three would sleep the day away.”

“You should have woken us up,” I told her.

“I was about to,” she admitted, smiling. “I waited for the three of you so we could eat together. So hurry up, I’m starving.”

Ten minutes later, we all made it down to the kitchen for brunch. Juliette and Ivy looked pretty rough. I probably did too, but more from lack of sleep than any alcohol I'd had the night before.

That image of Mr. Brennan in the shower played on repeat in my mind, over and over again. All night long. What I’d seen - and not seen. I’d been up half the night fantasizing about what his cock must look like and what he could do with it.

All the right things, my mind whispered. I was going to hell. There was no doubt about it.

When we entered the kitchen, the smell of food instantly filled my lungs and my stomach growled.

Thank God Juliette’s dad had a chef or we’d be so out of luck this morning. Ivy and Juliette skipped the fresh fruit and lunged for the crispy bacon and grease filled sausages learning a long time ago that fat was the best cure for a hangover. They must have had whoppers.

Wynter, on the other hand, was loading up on carbs so that she had something to burn while she practiced later today. I grabbed a banana and a bagel with some cream cheese. I wasn’t exactly hungover, but I didn’t want to risk the wrath of the gods by putting something in my nervous stomach that might not want to stay there. At least I was pretty sure that Mr. Brennan had left the house. I wasn’t sure I could face him after what I’d witnessed.

We sat down around the large dining room table and dug into our food. I’d barely gotten in the first bite when I felt a presence behind me.

“Morning, ladies,” a decidedly masculine and very familiar voice called from the entrance to the dining room and instantly I stiffened.Fuck my life.

It was bad enough that my big mouth had made a total fool of myself last night. Couldn’t I get a break today? At least he didn’t see me. There was comfort in that. I’d never tell a soul about that.

“Morning,” Juliette, Ivy, and I mumbled, avoiding looking his way. Probably for a different reason.

“Morning again, Uncle Liam,” Wynter said, grabbing another banana.

“Morning, Davina.” Mr. Brennan’s voice was relaxed, and I was painfully aware of him in the room.

I glanced his way but kept my eyes to the left of him. I couldn’t meet his eyes.

“Morning.” I barely got the word out, my throat suddenly dry.

My heart hammered against my ribs and heat colored my cheeks, remembering the glistening of his skin under the shower droplets, the grunting noises and sounds he made as his fisted hand slid up and down his cock. A cock that, unfortunately, I didn’t see.

A throbbing ache pulsed between my thighs and I squeezed my legs together, needing to kill this sensation before it became too uncomfortable.

He didn’t see you, Davina.I comforted myself as I focused on avoiding looking in Mr. Brennan’s direction.

He sat down next to me on my right, and I silently groaned. So much for getting out of here before I ran into him again.

“How did everyone sleep?” he asked and attention shot up my spine. My paranoia was taking full effect.

He didn’t see me.He didn’t see me.The chanting in my brain did nothing to make me feel better. My eyes were on the food, but my entire body was hyper aware of him next to me. I swore his eyes were burning a hole into my right cheek.

I hoped someone would answer the question and save me any conversation opportunities with him.
