“You and your daughter’s plans for moving in.” It wasn’t a talk or discussion, it was a firm plan.
“Mateo, please,” I tried again. “I can’t uproot her for a few weeks. Please be reasonable.”
“It won’t be a few weeks.”
“I’m going to get my period in two weeks.”I hope.“Emma doesn’t do well with changes and we have our routine. I- I give you my word I won’t-” I swallowed hard. There was no fooling him. He knew I didn’t want another child.
He put the hand on the small of my back and nudged me to get going. We walked out of his office, his hand firmly on my back. “Don’t you have to work?” I attempted. “I could get food and bring it back.”
“No, we’ll go together.”
I rolled my eyes. “I’m not keen on jailers.”
“Bellissima,” he turned my face to him and spoke softly. “I’m not your jailer. I am ensuring you don’t do something both of us will regret.”
His lips brushed against mine in a light kiss and my eyes fluttered shut. This reaction I had for him was unlike anything else; it was disturbing. I didn’t even realize my hands wrapped around the nape of his neck, pulling him closer. He deepened the kiss and I moaned into his mouth. I found myself pressed against the wall, his hard body pressing against me. He was hard, his shaft pushing against my lower belly and a familiar ache pulsed between my thighs.
“You are mine, Brianna,” he groaned in my ear, his hands on my butt, roughly pulling me closer. “Say it.”
My legs shook from the intense need. I wanted to feel him inside me again. This man had me losing my head with just his kisses.
“Tell me you’re mine,” he demanded, trailing kisses down my neck.
Swallowing hard, I fought the urge to beg him to take me right now. I had to keep my sanity; it was slowly seeping away with every touch he gave me.
“Say it, Bellissima,” he repeated.
“For now,” I murmured, searching out his lips. “For now, I’m yours.”
He smiled, a satisfying smug look on his face. “We’ll start with that.”
“Excuse me, Mr. Agosti,” a stranger’s voice interrupted and my eyes flared to Mateo. I lost my head so much, enjoying the moment, I forgot we were in the hallway. He never moved away from me or lifted his head, his body blocking the view of me from whoever interrupted.
“What is it?”
“The information arrived and was delivered to your email,” the man seemed uncomfortable and I felt sorry for him. “You asked me to notify you immediately when it came.”
And he was dismissed, just like that.
“Tell him thank you,” I whispered and Mateo’s breathtaking eyes flashed in surprise. I playfully hit his bicep, getting a good feel of his strong arms.
“Thank you, Paolo,” he said, gazing briefly over his shoulder
Poor man gasped like he had just seen a ghost, and I softly chuckled, burying my face into Mateo’s arm to stifle it.
“You-you’re welcome.” Then he shuffled away in a hurry like he was being chased.
“What did you do to the poor man to scare him so?”
“Gave him a job.” I chuckled, thinking he was joking, but then saw by his expression he was serious.
“Geez, should I be worried?” I chuckled, although underneath it all I was worried too. “I should probably buy that cup of coffee now, right?”
He grinned and somehow the whole morning brightened. I had become a sad case of a sex addict for this man.
Yes, I definitely needed someone to check my head.
“First, I’ll feed you,” he answered. “Then you buy me coffee and tell me a long story.”
