“But we gotta have some way of taking cover until…” Julianna halted as she looked pensive. “Cover…”

We all stared at her again.

“The tomb,” she whispered.

I almost couldn't catch up with Liv, Talon and Julianna. “What about it?” I asked her.

Instead of answering me, she looked over at my father again. “Have your men watch the Harrington crypt closely.”

He stared at her then his eyes narrowed. “Oh, dios mo. Santa Madre…you do not think…”

Nodding, she replied, “Hide your battleship.”

I finally caught up. “You mean she will be hiding in the crypt itself?” I asked with a shudder of disgust.

“No, she won’t even show up for this,” Julianna told me with an eye roll. “She would never risk that. It will be Deacon’s men who will handle it. They will be in that crypt.”

“How do you know?” Dante asked her.

“Because that’s what I would do if I played this game.” Julianna shrugged.

Talon slowly nodded his head as he stared at her. “You sure you were never in the military?”

“Or a cop of some kind?” Liv asked as she smirked. “With the way you talk and your OP idea. I could swear you studied at the Academy.”

“No, but I did take Justice and other classes that you would have taken, probably,” Julianna told Liz then she glanced at Talon. “I was always competing to win and I loved strategygames. Mazes, puzzles and such. And I never lost at paintball, I can tell you that.” She gave them a grin. “You know? I just strove to be better and better at figuring all the angles. My parents used to say I had the mind of a general.” She giggled.

Her giggle made me halt. My whole body reacted to it as I stared at her. It shocked me actually. My reaction came right out of nowhere.

Looking up at me, she stared at my face then her eyes rounded a bit as if she saw the heat I felt. She quickly looked at my father specifically, then she told him, “So this means we have to do the fake switch. She never intended for any of you to get through this exchange alive. So you have no choice but to keep Deacon.”

“Yes,” Liv agreed with her once again. “It’s like we almost have to do it like that or we lose.”

“So smart,” my father complimented her. “Well, Deacon will not be present either.”

I blinked at him. Again, he was impressed. But I already knew he liked this female attorney before now. Hell, I really liked her and I intended to do something about that too.

“She plans to murder you all,” Liv reasoned. “Take her brother and run.”

“Hell no, she won’t be doing that.” Redemption seethed. “I agree with this lady lawyer too.” He gave Julianna a nod. “Deacon shouldn’t even be there.”

“Ok, we sorta know part one. So what is part two?” Dante asked her as he looked very curious. In fact, my brother looked fascinated by Julianna.

I wrinkled my brow as this idea sunk in. Maybe a littletoofascinated.

“Part one,” Julianna began. “You take Redemption dressed as Deacon. You have your men all in place. You wait till you see Jarret and then boom!”

I shook my head a bit and asked, “Boom?”

“Yes, then it goes to part two,” Julianna continued. “You kill her men in the windows and the ones in that crypt. And any more you spot up until then. All while both Redemption and his dad are under a Kevlar wrap.”

“No, I will not be lying around under no fucking wrap,” Redemption growled his words out. “I will protect Dad and whoever is with us.”

Looking over at him, Julianna sighed and said, “You can’t come in with a weapon. You’re supposed to be Deacon, remember? In our custody.”

“I will have my gun hidden,” he retorted. “There is no way I will lay down blindly when this goes down.”

I couldn’t say that I blamed him. If it were my dad…
