I chuckled and sat down.

Romeo scooted my chair in. Sitting next to me, he said, “Believe me, there are very few addictions in life that could snare me. Her food is one of those that has. I have to go to the gym every damn day, but her food is worth it.”

I laughed. “You look very fit.” He really did. I’d only noted that like fifty times now. Tall, wide shoulders, long legs and he moved like a dancer. A smooth glide. I imagined he’d enraptured many female jurors when he glided into the courtroom.

“I am. But I wouldn’t be if I didn’t haunt the gym five days a week.”

I looked at him then gazed around at the table.

The guests were all filling their plates.

Looking back down at the table, I saw that Romeo had set a plate of this lasagna in front of me. I stared at it and my mouth watered. “Wow, this is like what they serve at five star Michelin restaurants.”

“I know, I know.” He nodded as he poured wine and set it next to my plate. “Actually, it might be better than that.”

“Thank you, Romeo,” I said and laid my napkin onto my lap.

Patting my hand, he gave me a dazzling smile and said in a Sicilian tenor tone, “Fuggedaboutit.”

I looked over at him as I burst into laughter. Again, did I say he was funny? Yeah.

Chapter Seven:Mind Blown

Romeo

I quietly enjoyed watching Julianna as she seemed to be lost in the meal. Reveling in it really. Yes, Zia Maria’s lasagna was the best anywhere. Our family knew this and we had witnessed this euphoria guests had expressed many times. Only Julianna’s euphoria was becoming a bit too much for me with the moans of pleasure she was releasing. The more she did it, the more I squirmed in my chair.

Dante kept chuckling from across the table.

I know he was laughing at me. I ignored it. But the one person who wasn’t ignoring this was my father. I met his amused gaze as he also sat across the way from me. He actually smirked at me. They both knew I was attracted to her. But they didn’t know it was more than that. I had to hope Julianna didn’t see how she was affecting me. I saw the brief look of panic on her face earlier when she’d caught me staring at her and I didn’t want to make her feel uncomfortable again.

I glanced over to see her plate was mostly empty. “I’ll take this,” I said as I plucked it up and set it aside. Reaching across, I picked up the sherbert glass that held Zia’s dessert. I swung it over and placed it in front of her.

Staring down at it, Julianna put her hand onto her belly and exclaimed, “I’m too full for that.”

I smiled at her and urged, “Just a few bites.”

Staring at me, she asked, “Why are you pushing dessert so hard?” She then gave me a grin.

Her smile just got to me and I’d already admitted this to myself weeks ago. I chuckled and explained it, “There are somegreat wonders of the world and tiramisu chocolate mousse is one of them. You cannot miss this.” I handed her a spoon.

Taking it, she shook her head, dipped the spoon into the mousse and took a bite. Then she let out the loudest moan yet as she closed her eyes and whispered, “Oh, cavalo…”

I had to look away as I grabbed my wine glass. Damn, my dress slacks were a bit too tight now. It did not help that she spoke Italian either. On her lips it sounded too damned sensuous. I could hear loud chuckling coming from across the table. My brother and father were apparently enjoying dessert too at my expense. I rolled my eyes, then heard more laughter.

“Wow…” Julianna shook her head. “I can see why you said you needed the gym every day. This is so rich. Hmmm.”

Her moans of pleasure were about to drive me insane.

“Why aren’t you having any of this ambrosia?” Julianna asked me as she licked her spoon.

I looked back over at her, then picked up my spoon and took a bite. I instantly hummed low in my throat. “Mmmm.” I took a second, then a third bite while humming. Finally, I noted the silence and glanced over at her.

She was beaming at me.

“What?” I asked.

“That humming…” She giggled. “You sound like a motorboat or something.” Shaking her head, she asked, “I didn’t sound like that, did I?”
