“You’d better take that back, fucker.” Liberty took another step closer. “And I don’t care who the hell you think you are.”
I now felt concerned. This looked like it was about to become a real fight as in matching blows. These two were professional fighters and the damage could be catastrophic. “Stop it, the both of you. Let’s just forget it.”
“The hell I will, Belle.” Liberty seethed. “I warned him yesterday about this crap.”
Redemption stepped in between them and tried to defuse the situation too. “Guys, you need to calm the fuck down.”
“Yeah, I would except Talon here will do it again, apparently. We already had this decided and now he’s talking crap again.”
“You two can’t fight in Ma’s kitchen,” Redemption warned them. “If you do, she will be doing the ass kicking.”
“Meet me in the ring, fucker,” Liberty stated in a low voice as he glared at Talon while ignoring his brother Redemption altogether.
“What?” I exclaimed as I shook my head and knew for sure this was headed in a bad direction. “Liberty, come on. It is okay. Let’s leave.” Even as I suggested it, I remembered what Liberty just told me less than an hour ago.Walkers have tempers and they never back down.
He glanced at me and shook his head. “No, it is not okay. I’m sick of this shit. I warned him already. He needs to apologize to you. We will settle this in the ring.”
Talon smirked as he crossed his python-like arms over his large chest. “Well, look who finally came up with an idea I like. I’m gonna kick your trophy winning candy ass all over that ring.”
“OH. MY. GOD!” I exclaimed. “You two need to put your dicks away. Act like adults and forget about this whole thing right now!”
The two men glared at each other in tense silence as they didn’t seem to ever hear me.
I looked over at Redemption for help.
He slowly shook his head as if to say…too late. This is gonna happen.
Chapter Nine:On Fire
Liberty
Damn, this had just accelerated like a motherfucker, but I didn't care. When I came in and saw him twisting Belle’s arm, I lost it.
“What in all that’s holy is going on here?”
We all looked over at my dad.
I let out a frustrated breath and shook my head.
“Seems the cousins have a disagreement, Dad,” Redemption explained. “They are gonna settle it in the ring.”
Belle stepped closer and said, “I’m glad you're here Mr. Walker. These two are planning to fight. And I mean a REAL fight, like hitting each other with their fists.”
Our dad glanced over at her then back at his son and his nephew. “Make sure you are both gloved up. And no low blows.”
Belle gasped as she stared at him in surprise. “You mean you aren’t going to stop them?”
He slowly shook his head at her. “They need to settle it. We can’t have all this tension when we are all residing at the same location, girl. It’s bad for everyone. I won’t have them fighting in front of the family either.” He looked around at the guys. “Now let’s have dinner.” He turned and grabbed a large stack of plates then left the kitchen.
Belle looked gobsmacked by his attitude as she kept staring after him. “Is he serious?” she asked.
Redemption nodded at her. “Yep. This wouldn’t be the first time one of us fought in a ring over some difference or another.”
“Same for our side,” Talon said. “Our dad raised us the same way.” He refused to look at me or Belle as he added, “Eight pm tonight in the back garage. If you change your mind, let Redemption know.”
“Like I fucking would!” I sneered at him. “I’ll be there.”
He shrugged and walked away.
