We went in and looked around. The room was eye-catching with funny vintage posters on the wall. Shelves full of colorful yarn, material and other items. Baskets, canvases, paint supplies and the like. “This is adorable,” I said as I kept looking around.

“It is, right?” Cinnamon replied. “But I didn’t decorate it. I found it this way. I think it's a craft room left over from when the bed and breakfast was running?” She waved a hand to an actual sewing mannequin. The kind they used in professional wedding salons. “Here’s what I have so far. It's almost done.”

Scarlet and I rushed over to see the star. The main heroine. The queen of it all…The wedding dress. With the layers of tulle and the lace cameo front, all lined in a tiny pearls border, this dress was phenomenal.

“Oh wow, it is beautiful!” Scarlet gushed.

I nodded in agreement. “So pretty.”

Scarlet hugged Cinnamon. “Thank you so much for doing this!”

Cinnamon got tears in her eyes and hugged Scarlet back. “I never knew I would be designing your wedding dress, Scarlet. It is such an honor.”

Scarlet embraced her friend as tears seeped from her eyes too. “To think a pair of strippers ended up with happy ever afters, right?”

“Why ya gotta say it like that?” I admonished them. “You both were not at all like regular strippers. You did it to save up for college.”

They laughed.

“We weren’t like most of them, no,” Scarlet said. “Us and Jewel. The others were pretty racy and they lived in the fast lane.”

“And now you are gonna be a missus!” Cinnamon exclaimed then she turned to look at me. “And there's your dress.” She pointed to a rose colored satin dress on a hanger. “Once you gave me your size, it didn’t take any time at all.”

“This is pretty too,” Scarlet said as she stepped over to it and passed her hand over the material.

“It really is.” I smiled. “So, we are almost ready.”

“Just two days,” Scarlet said nervously as she wrung her hands together.

“Don’t get nervous, Scar,” I told her. “This is going to be epic!”

“Here’s the veil,” Cinnamon announced happily as she brought the gossamer item over to Scarlet. “I admit I had to have Redemption sneak into town to get the material.”

“Wow, Talon must have pitched a fit about that,” I commented as I myself knew about his stand on anyone leaving the Connor House.

Cinnamon handed the tulle-like veil over to Scarlet. “Yeah, he didn't like the idea much, but this was a must. There's only like two materials you can make a veil out of… Tulle and lace.”

Scarlet paused to stare at it as she handled the veil reverently, almost religiously. “I can’t believe I am getting married,” she whispered as she stared down at it.

I admit I was finally feeling excited about this too. “I know. My big sis is gonna be Mrs. Scarlet Walker!”

“Woot, woot!” Cinnamon cheered as all three of us jumped up and down like silly kids.

When we finally stopped with the silliness, I smiled at them. “Ok, I’m gonna head to the ballroom.”

Scarlet nodded at me. “Yes, I bet he’s waiting. He looked really upset.”

I scoffed. “Gee, thanks for that, Scar.”

She shrugged. “You really aren’t gonna dump him, are you?”

I shook my head. “No, I don’t think I will be able to.”

“Be able to?” Scarlet asked as she gave me a sly smile. “Oh…”

I laughed. “Liberty is a force all on his own.”

“Yes, we know,” Cinnamon said.
