“Nope, stayin’ with you.”
“Well, I don’t wanna ride with you,” Belle said as she glared at Liberty.
He turned to look at her. “And why not? I’m a gentleman and I can protect you.”
“Oh, yeah?” she snapped. “Protect me from who?”
“Wow, this Deacon really fooled you, eh?” Liberty scoffed. “Well little Belle, he is the bad guy.”
Belle looked away as she muttered, “Then why did he give us our freedom?”
I had just opened the door for Scarlet to get in as I paused and looked up at Belle. “Is that what he said? He used those exact words?”
“Yes, he said he would set us free.” Belle nodded.
“She’s right,” Scarlet said. “In fact, he said that was the whole point. So we could go home.”
I stood still and watched the men get on their rides as I mumbled to myself, “The whole point…” He had us under those helicopters and he never attacked. He had the girls in his clutches and he let them go. My head shot up and I called over my comm, “Talon!”
With his bike engine running, he just then turned his bike around to head down the road as he answered me on his comm, “Yeah, Justice.”
“You need to turn around and come back here,” I informed him. “None of us can go home.”
Chapter Fourteen:Safe?
Scarlet
I watched as Talon turned his bike back around, then I looked over at Justice. Somehow with his analytical mind, he had figured it out. “What is it, Justice?”
“Just a minute and I will explain it to everyone.” He looked up at the group of Rebel Saints who stared at him from the seat of their bikes.
Talon rode over close to us, shut his engine off and kicked his bike stand down. “So why can’t we go home?”
Justice slowly shook his head. “He set all of this up for a reason.”
“Yeah…” Talon stared at him. “He did and now you think you know why.”
“He said it himself to Scarlet before he left.”
“Just tell us,” Liberty urged.
“He said that was the whole point,” Justice explained as his eyes never left Talon. “Setting them free, so they could go home.”
Talon raised a brow at him then he looked angry as he finally understood. “Well, fuck.”
“What?” Liberty asked in frustration as he didn’t seem to understand at all.
“He would have followed us home,” I said as I looked over at Justice. Yes, that had to be what he was after. The location where the Walkers were hiding out at.
“God damnit!” Dagger shouted. “That motherfucker!”
“But how?” Liberty asked.
Talon shook his head and looked over at me. “Did you see him leave?”
I shook my head. “Not exactly.”
“What does that mean?” Liberty asked. “Either you did or you didn’t.”
