“Oh, my God,” I whispered as I felt sick to my stomach. “That never occurred to me.”

“Don’t feel like that.” Justice wrapped his arm around my shoulder. “I was slow on this as well. And I have another question. You’ve lived in Ramton your whole life, right?”

“Yes, except for the few times I told you about.”

“So, do you know about these drug dealers? Like who they might be?”

I slowly shook my head. “No, I’ve never had anything to do with that stuff.”

“Yes, I know you wouldn’t. What I mean is, have you heard about these drug dealers. Like from the girls at the club maybe?”

I thought about this. “Yeah, but there are quite a few of them. Jug is a name I’ve heard that sells. Then there’s another guy, Raps, and he is supposed to be Russian.”

“And the Russians work for Deacon.”

“Oh, wow,” I said. “I just never thought…”

“And he was hoping you wouldn’t think about it. Letting you know that if you told anyone, she would get hurt. Hoping you would do exactly what you were planning. Sneak out by yourself.”

I covered my face with both hands. “Oh, my God!”

“Baby, don’t get…” He paused. “Well, I cannot blame you for being freaked out, but we have to tell them.”

I dropped my hands to look over at him.

“We have to bring Liv, Redemption and Talon in on this and we need to do it now.”

“I know…” I swiped a stray tear from my cheek. “I’m just so scared, Justice. For Belle. There I was hating on my dad and it was Deacon all along?”

“We don’t know that your dad is not involved in some way,” Justice said.

“Like maybe he gets the 15k?” I scoffed. “Yeah, I wouldn’t put it past him. They could have gone to him and promised him that money.” I slowly shook my head. “Asked him what would get me to come out of hiding in the first place.”

“We can deal with him later,” Justice said with a growl in his voice.

I gazed up at him again. “No, don’t go after him, Justice. His future has always been bleak. It will catch up to him someday. I always knew this. For years now, I expected to hear that he was found dead somewhere of an overdose or that he had been killed because he crossed someone he shouldn’t have.” I shrugged my shoulders. “Like this for example, owing money that he did not have to begin with. I think that was why I accepted that whole story so easily. Him owing and Belle getting taken so someone would pay his debt. It fits his kind of trouble exactly.”

Justice took my hand in his. “Let’s go and fess up,” he said. “They need some time to hatch one of their counter schemes against Deacon yet again.”

We stood to go inside.

Liberty came out the door before we could go in. He looked nervous and agitated. “Ok, you two. We need to come clean with Redemption and Talon.”

Justice opened his mouth to reply.

Liberty raised his hands up to cut him off. “Just wait before you shut me down, Justice. Hear me out first. I think we might be walking into a fucking trap. After talking about Deacon atdinner, I feel like that is what we are about to do. I bet he set this all up and he plans to take Scarlet. Just think about it, he would do something like this. We need to take this to Redemption—”

“Yes, Liberty and we are going to do just that,” Justice told him.

He tucked his head back in surprise. “What?”

Justice chuckled.

“You mean you figured this out already?” Liberty asked.

“In the ring or a street fight, you are the best,” Justice informed him. “But in the realm of assessing situations or figuring out motives and people, I’m the one with the gold plaques.”

“Oh, ha-freakin-ha,” Liberty scoffed.
