“Deacon, who else?” he replied.

“W-what did he do?” I asked.

The men all stared at me.

Suddenly, my chest tightened as I just knew this had something to do with me.

Redemption stepped over and tapped Prophet on the arm. “We gotta talk.” He glanced at me then back at Prophet.

I squared my shoulders and glared at Redemption.

Prophet caught my look and said, “Anything you have to say…she can be present. She’s my girl now.”

I felt a jolt upon hearing him actually say this. Then that warmth rushed through me.

Redemption let out a breath as he looked agitated.

“Just tell me, man.” Prophet seethed as he glared at him.

“They took your dad,” Redemption dropped his bomb.

With a gasp, I covered my mouth with my hand.

“The hell you say!” Prophet exclaimed.

“Man, I’m so sorr—”

“No way!” Prophet cut him off. “You know my old man. Two feet wide and built like a fucking tank. No one can take him down!”

“It took five men to do it,” Talon added, then he nodded at Logan.

He stepped over and showed Prophet his cell. “I got this on my laptop today. How they knew my URL, I don’t know.” He handed the phone to him.

Taking it, Prophet gazed down at the screen as his face went hard like stone.

I watched him as I hadn't ever seen this look on him before. My heart was thundering in my chest. This was bad, so bad.

Quietly, Prophet handed the phone back. “So what does he want?”

The men all looked over at me.

Gasping, I stepped back. “No…Deacon wants to…”

Prophet stared at me then around at the men. “He wants her as a trade-off?”

Redemption nodded.

Tears welled up in my eyes. This just couldn’t be happening. It was insane. I paused as I remembered Deacon’s eyes. Yes, insane.

“If we don’t comply,” Talon stated. “They will kill him.”

“Oh, my God!” I wrapped my arms around myself.

“How long do we have?” Prophet asked.

“They haven’t said,” Logan replied. “I haven’t blocked that infiltration of my URL, so we can get more from them.”

“Them?” Prophet scoffed. “You mean that fucker Deacon. What the hell is his game? Why doesn’t he demand to trade for O?”
