Liv’s voice came over it, “Her signal hit the road and she is on the move.”

“Got it,” he called back to her. Raising his head, he said, “Let’s head the rest of the way to the road and be ready.”

I grabbed the handlebars to my Ninja bike.

We all moved along quite a ways. “How fucking long is this tunnel?” I asked impatiently.

“O had it built all the way to the road,” Hawk replied from beside me.

Finally, we came to the opening.

“Ok,” Talon spoke into his comm as he got onto his ride and tapped the screen.” Liv says her signal is moving fast now.”

“Shit, they grabbed her,” I muttered.

“Yeah, they did,” Hawk looked down at his screen to watch the tracker’s progress.

“Let’s go!” Talon announced.

We all started our bikes up to navigate them out and across a small patch of grass. We then came to the road. As soon as we hit the asphalt, we all took off.

I could see on the screen below me that her tracker was moving fast. “Fuck, I spoke into the comm. “She’s almost into town.”

“Yep,” Talon came over the comm. “We are about a mile back. They can’t know we are here.”

I couldn’t help but to say the same fucking thing I’d been saying, “I don’t like it.”

“We are catching up a bit,” Hawk said in a hopeful tone.

“Damn, her signal is now close downtown,” Bones, one of the other Rebel Saints said.

“The fuck?” Talon came over. “He can’t be hiding there.”

“Oh, yeah?” Hawk came over. “Tell him that.”

I sped my Ninja up. I never rode sleek bikes before this as I was Harley or an Indian Chief kind of guy, but I felt glad for the speed right now.

“Damnit, Prophet,” Talon growled over the comm. “You are gonna get spotted!”

I knew there was a chance of that but my gut churned and my chest went tight. Something felt off here, I just couldn’t identify what. If she disappeared—I couldn’t even contemplate it.

“She’s in downtown,” Bones said.

“Fuck!” I glanced down to the screen and he was right. I turned the throttle up on the Ninja again and raced ahead.

“Oh man,” Hawk came over. “The vehicle is at the Cotton Candy. The fuck?”

“We got him then,” one of the others came over.

“It can’t be that easy!” Talon said.

I agreed. Deacon was too smart, so what the hell was happening? I followed the signal using the on board GPS. I didn’t know Ramton all that well, but I managed to arrive ahead of the group and I slowed down to look at the building with the ‘Cotton Candy Club’ sign over it and the lot. No cars and the club looked closed down.

“The back,” Talon stated on the comm. “Go around the back.”

I did so and slowed the Ninja down to a crawl while carefully searching the building and the back lot then I heard it. Screeching tires and a scream. My blood froze in my veins. It had been Jewel that screamed. I flipped the bike around and headed toward the sounds. I sped over and kept looking, the lots were empty. I noted rubber marks on the asphalt in the second lot and pulled in. As I slowed down, I could smell the burning rubber. I looked ahead straight on to the back part of the lot to see the tail end of a white SUV turn off onto a busy road and then it disappeared. I revved my bike and took off after it as I spoke into the comm, “Talon, is her signal moving away?” I looked down at my screen and saw nothing, no green dot at all. I hoped it was a glitch.

No immediate answer.
