“We use the exit beyond the wall.” Talon motioned to the wall in the basement.

“After I leave,” Jewel said. “If Deacon sends men out, they might see that activity.”

“Yes, after the team follows you.” Talon nodded. “We will contact our lookouts to be sure none of Deacon’s men are hanging around.”

“What if he doesn’t send men out after her?” I asked as I actually hoped the man wouldn’t take the bait at all.

“I don’t think he can resist it,” Jewel said.

We all stared at her.

Shrugging, she explained it as she gazed at Liv, “You and Logan knew him when he was acting as you say. Playing his role. I met him like he truly is. I have also met men like him. They always have to win. It isn’t just about him wanting me. I became a challenge. He doesn’t accept losing. He even sent men to my apartment to retrieve me after I kept refusing him. Plus, he probably cannot resist getting one over on all of you.”

Liv cocked her head at Jewel and said, “Yeah, that sounds about right. It would feed that competitive cretin that lives inside of him. To win at all costs.”

Chapter Ten:Happily Ever After

Jewel

Liv stepped over close to me and said, “Ok, so we will need one of your bras.”

I stared at her as I blinked rapidly. “What?”

“To put the tracker into the seam,” Liv explained in that logical tone she always used. “It is tiny and that will hide it.”

“You think…” Prophet grumbled with doubt.

“Yes.” Liv nodded at him. “I don’t think they will find it. Or even look for it. They will be in a hurry to...snatch her and get the hell out. And I doubt the men he sends in on the fly will have a sensor device.”

I had none of my clothes with me and no undergarments really except for the one pair of panties. “I only have what you all gave me. I was in my sleep shirt when I got here. I have a borrowed one though.”

“The one borrowed,” Liv replied. “Is it mine or?”

“I don’t know really?” I shrugged.

Liv took a step back to study me. “You are bigger than I am. So…”

“36 double D,” I replied without thinking. Then I looked around at the men in the room and my cheeks flushed. I was used to men staring at me, but I never thought this kind of thing would happen somewhere else, somewhere without a stage and a pole. Yes, I wore less than a bra when I worked, but this wasn’t the same situation at all.

Hawk shook his head. “Of all the war plans. It’s now come down to bra sizes?”

Prophet crossed his arms over his large chest and growled at Hawk’s ‘supposed’ joke. “I just want all you fuckers to stop ogling her or it might come down to my fists—”

“You do know I was a stripper, right?” I asked Prophet as I cut off his angry threats.

“I do and it never bothered me.” He gave me a slight nod as he looked like he was attempting to leash that rage he gave into earlier today. “Especially when you saywas... But I don’t like men sizing you up.”

Oh...I never thought about this. On one hand, he would react like that, wouldn’t he? I would if women were doing the same thing to him, sizing him up and all. I would get mad, I think? On the other hand, I wasn’t at all used to any of this. His attitude and protective nature as I never had a boyfriend before now.

“Ok, ok. I will get her one,” Liv said as she obviously tried to diffuse the ‘bra storm.’

Hawk chuckled as he shook his head.

Now, Prophet was glaring at him as he stepped closer to Hawk.

Redemption got in front of him to prevent Prophet from getting near the man. “No, we are not going back to the ring, big guy.”

Prophet grunted in disgust. “It's past that shit. My girl is being sent out as fucking bait for a shark.”
