“Well, it’s pretty for a stress ball. So can I ask why you were stressed?’
“I will be honest. It was because of you.”
I stopped walking and stared at him. “Me?”
“Yes, Jewel. I was thinking about...Well, how to date you or if you even wanted that. Like I said, I’ve only been with women who were temporary.”
“So, do you feel better now?” I teased.
“Hell yes, I do.” He took my hand again. “So, I could also take you on a bike ride? Do you like motorcycles or…?”
“I’ve never been on one, so I don’t know.”
“Well, there’s lots of property here,” he said. “And I already learned from Rip that this family were practically raised on bikes, so they have plenty of paths we could ride on.”
“Ok, I might get a little nervous, but I would love to try it. Where I grew up, we rode horses a lot.”
Looking over at me, he said, “You are…” He laughed. “Amazing. You already know how I was raised. All I did was rope, brand and ride.”
“Yes, and I wasn’t on horses as much as you probably were, but I love them. They are the most majestic creatures I’ve ever known.”
Squeezing my hand, he kept grinning. “You are just perfect. I wanted to say this cheesy line, but I think I’ll skip it.”
“Look, you can be more cut to the chase with me ok?” I shrugged. “I want to hear the line. Go ahead. You got me curious now.”
“Ok, but be warned we are talking cheesy here.”
I nodded. “Duly noted.”
We stopped walking as he looked at me and said, “Did you know God was looking for you? Because they are missing an angel from heaven.”
I laughed. “That’s cute and I don’t think that’s too cheesy. I have a notebook full, believe me. And some of them are over the top.”
“Yeah?” he asked. “I got more.”
I giggled and urged him on, “Shoot.”
Clearing his throat, he said, “If you were a burger at McDonald's, you'd be the McGorgeous.”
I laughed. “Oh, wow. That’s a new one. It’s full of cheese.”
“Clever!” he exclaimed with a grin on his face. “Let me see…” He looked up as if contemplating the subject and said, “I'd like to take you to the movies, but they don't let you bring in your own snacks.”
I bent over with laughter. “Good one. It speaks on many levels.”
Laughing with me, he said, “I just thought of another one.”
Nodding, I said, “Hit me.”
He paused and quipped, “You mean hitonyou, right?”
“Yes, yes. Go ahead.” I kept giggling.
He then took a step back and acted as if he was approaching me as he stuck his hand out to me. “Hi, I'm Prophet. Do you remember me? Oh, that's right! We've only met in my dreams.”
I really liked his lines for sure and I already knew his sense of humor was one of the qualities I loved.
“Then this one is hot.” He kept grinning at me. “Likereallyhot.”
