My stomach was now on fire as I felt cold and clammy all over. I had true fear racing through me as I navigated the bike along the busy road. “Fucking answer me!” I yelled into the comm.

“The signal is gone,” Hawk came over.

The words felt like I just got sucker punched. “What in the fuck?”

“Your bike is moving along highway 50,” Talon spoke finally.

I growled as I just knew we had fucked this up. “You know where I am but where the fuck is…? I spotted the SUV four cars ahead and again, I turned the throttle on the bike. This was the only bread crumb I had. It could be just some random vehicle I saw, but I had no choice. It was all I had. It also sped up and was doing maybe 85 on the two lane highway.

“Prophet, where the fuck are you going?” Talon demanded.

I gave him no answer as desperation rolled through me like a wave of hot pin pricks. My whole body became one rigid muscle as I leaned close over the manifold of the bike and tapped it up to 95. Speeding through lanes in and out to get to the White SUV, I didn’t care about shit. Only this slight chance that this vehicle had Jewel in it.

The SUV picked up even more speed as it wove in and out of lanes to get ahead of traffic and this told me I was on the right trail, as it was attempting to lose me. “Fucker,” I muttered under my breath as the wind from my speed pushed at me.

Finally, I was only two cars behind it, I could see the license plate. “Plate number 5ZT4961,” I spoke into the comm as I reached 100 miles an hour. The wind made it hard to speak.

“Prophet? Come over again,” Talon said.

“5ZT4961,” I repeated.

“Got it,” Hawk’s voice came over.

I could barely hear them over the comm now as I came up beside the SUV. It had smoked windows so I couldn’t see inside of it. We were both racing down a less crowded highway now, but cars were ahead of us. On a bike, I couldn’t ram the fucker but maybe I could manage to keep up with it. I would stick to this fucker like glue until he ran out of gas. I knew I wouldn’t, if I remember these Ninja bikes right. they had a tank capacity of over 200 miles. Didn't matter though as I would follow this bitch until one of us couldn’t go anymore.

Wrecking it wasn’t an option. Jewel could still be in it. They could have found her tracker. I suddenly felt punched all over again at this possibility. That meant they took her bra off. My head spun for a second as my mind scrambled. I admit that it hit me as hard as a mac truck. Then of all things ahead of the SUV, was that very thing. “Fuuuuccck…” I shouted into the racing wind as I slowed down and moved to the other lane. My bike swerved a bit as the slowing changed the balance suddenly. I had trouble maintaining the bike tires as they seemed to rise from the road as it began to plane.

My focus changed in an instant from the SUV and the road. I allowed the bike to go, knowing if I turned the handlebars or hit the brakes, it would be sliding on that rushing asphalt, taking my body along with it. I kept riding through the air-skid sideways as the Ninja leaned lower to the road. I’d seen this very same stunt on videos and movies and I always believed it was faked. Not anymore, as the bike and I were doing that same thing. I tried my best NOT to control anything at this point and just white-knuckled it. I was no longer in a normal cognitive state anymore, so I couldn't control shit at this point anyway. The speed and the air took my senses from me. I experienced an unusual sensation of having no gravity as this ride became surreal. I’d ridden wild violent bulls, rebellious bucking horses and hulking Harleys, but I now knew that all of that had been nothing compared to this.

I entered a state of breathlessness like I’d suddenly been ejected into deep space. My lungs burned and my eyes watered with huge sliding tears as the intense vibration of the bike seemed to subside, but the sound was like a rushing hurricane in my ears. I felt strangely numbed and insulated from the motorcycle, as if I was floating a few inches off the seat, off the pegs, like my hands were not even touching the handlebars.

I knew I’d gone past the barrier of speed versus wind and I became just a passenger on a flying gyroscope as the overwhelming power of this trip into another dimension seemed to last forever. I had no control over it and if I attempted to take control—I would most certainly be dying today.

Abruptly, the bike came out of the half leaning slide and my instincts kicked in to not let go of the handlebars. Breath came back to me with a huge intake into my lungs. I couldn’t see yet though, not well anyway as the pouring moisture in my eyes blurred my vision. I tried hard to see anything and it all was blurred objects, I consciously knew they were vehicles. I would swing over out of the way of these large obstacles as my speed finally came down gradually.

Despite the fact that what I just experienced only lasted perhaps a full minute and a half, it had seemed like forever. My sight came back as did the feeling in my body. Lightheaded didn’t describe my situation, it was far more than that. Jewel...That is all I thought...Jewel.

“Prophet!” an actual shout scream came over the comm.

I recognized Talon’s voice as my hearing came back finally, but I didn’t trust my vocal chords to be able to speak just yet. Focusing on the vehicle that held Jewel was my only concern.

I could finally see the SUV and it had pulled ahead of me by at least six car lengths. At a high speed, it took an exit. It then swerved on the frontage road. I held my breath, if Jewel was in it...Then it righted itself, thank fuck. I slowed the bike gradually as I’d learned my earlier lesson in fucked up physics well and then I took the same exit. Riding the frontage road, I then saw the SUV.

It sat smashed up against a telephone pole, engine smoking and sparks flying from the electrical lines. My heart lurched in my chest and again I could not breathe.

This might be the day…The day I lost everything.

Chapter Fourteen:A New Hell

Jewel

I hadn’t even caught my breath when Maxim growled, “Don’t move!” He reached over and hit a button on the side panel of the bin.

I couldn’t move, even if I wanted to as he had me on top of him and pressed up against the other metal wall of the container we were in.What just happened? It all went by so fast, my brain hadn't caught up yet.

The hulking Russian sat us both upright while the metal floor we laid on slowly slid open. I peered down as the interior of my new hell became visible. All I could see from this odd vantage point was metal stairs.

Maxim held me tight and grunted. “Step down.”
