Hitting the ring floor again, he rolled and then stood up on lightning feet.

I had to acknowledge that this man could take hits like none I’d ever tangled with. I felt more rage to see him standing, I wanted blood now. I came closer to him while watching his fists and feet. I could barely contain my need to pummel him, but I did contain it. I would let him come at me again instead.

He waited and was once again, jumping on the balls of his feet as he gave me a smirk.

This just pissed me the hell off. I wanted to lay him the fuck out.

Finally, he came close again. He faked jabbed at me then his leg came around fast to kick me.

I dropped down and then lunged up to elbow him in the gut. He groaned loudly this time as we both went down.

Again, I was on him, turning him over like a steer onto his stomach. Holding one of his legs down with mine and wrenching his arm back hard, I stretched him like fucking taffy.

He growled like the beast his brother had called him as he reached back with his free arm and shoved his fingers into my neck.

This somehow, paralyzed me for a few seconds as he got out of my hold. The next thing I knew, the world spun and my face hit the ring floor. Damn, how did he do that?

“STOP!”

I simply laid there as I heard her voice. I was stopped as I still couldn’t seem to move much.

“You horrible man!” Jewel sounded like she was closer now.

I finally managed to grunt then I flipped over onto my back.

“Wait a damn minute,” Talon spoke up. “We were just—”

SMACK!

Jewel slapped him hard on the cheek.

Talon stepped back, looking a bit stunned.

Jewel now loomed above me. “Prophet?” She grasped my face with both hands.

I let out a groan, but I still couldn’t seem to speak.

“Oh, you're bleeding!” she exclaimed in panic. “Answer me,” she pleaded.

“You just need to give him a few minutes,” Talon suggested. “He will come around.”

Glaring up at him, Jewel seethed. “You monster. Get away from us!”

Talon raised his hands up at her but he still had something to say, “Prophet, you are hands down, the best fucking fighter I’ve ever faced. Goddamn it, I only used that move on your neck, because I seriously thought you might kill me. Respect to you, total respect.” He moved away.

I groan-laughed.

Jewel looked upset and her face looked flushed. “We need to get you to a doctor, Prophet.”

“I-I’m okay, s-sweet Jewel,” I mumbled.

“Let me check him,” a voice said.

I looked up in a daze to see one of the Saints.

“I’m Wildcat and I’m a medic and that’s the best you're gonna get right now,” he told Jewel.

She moved to the side.
