“Ok, well I will text Justice and ask him what’s up.”

Smiling at me, she patted my arm. “I just want to thank you for getting her back here. The girl deserves better. She…” Bea didn’t finish her sentence as she let out a sigh and went out the door.

I shut it and looked over at Cinnamon. I hoped she would tell me about her life. Everyone else knew more than I did. I knew how I felt about her though. Whatever her past was, it wouldn't make any difference to me. I looked over to see her eyes were open as she stared at me.

Chapter Thirteen:50 Dollars

Cinnamon

The man was so fine. I could look at him all day and night. I knew I should gawk at him while I could because our relationship ? if it was that ? wouldn’t last. I wouldn’t blame him, I really wouldn’t. Even I could understand that a man wouldn’t want an ex-hooker to be a permanent thing in their life. That was why I’d wanted just one night with him. Then when I left, I felt like I at least got to experience it. I would never forget it either.

Now, here I was again, facing him. The way he looked at me…I shivered. So intense. His eyes were so fascinating too. They held heat in them. I could understand that as he was true fire. Making love with him had been more than an eye opener for me. It had been mind-blowing. It had changed my entire world in a way, as I never knew pleasure existed like he gave to me.

Coming over, he sat on the bed next to me. Reaching out, he took my hand. “How’s the head?”

“Better. Ma is a miracle worker. Whatever she did helped. Are you okay?”

He stared at me as he shook his head. “I wasn’t knocked out cold, like you were, babe.”

Babe…how sweet. I let out a sigh and apologized to him, “I’m sorry I caused so much trouble.”

“You did but from what everyone has told me, you had good reason to run.”

I stilled at this, I hoped to be the one to tell him the truth. “What are they saying?”

He shrugged. “I will confess that the women downstairs practically gave me a lecture about you.”

“What?” I removed my hand from his. Some of them knew about my past.

“Like asking my intentions sort of thing?” He shook his head. “Like how much do I care for you and…” He paused and looked at me. “Talon threatened to kick my ass if I broke your heart.”

My mouth popped open.

With a chuckle, he reached over to lift my chin with his finger to close my mouth. “They all care about you. I admit, I got a little mad. I mean it’s like they think I’m just…” His voice faded off.

“Just what?” I asked.

“Messing around. I mean even Prophet thought that.” He gazed into my eyes. “And usually, that is all I’m doing. I haven’t been serious about any woman. They never made me feel like it was worth it. Like to stick with it. See them every day.” Redemption shrugged.

I stared at him and said, “Well, we only met 2 days ago. So, you aren’t breaking that pattern.” I smiled at him even though I felt like I was dying inside. I knew he would be gone anyway after they got Glory back.

He tilted his head at me. “Yeah, two going on three days and I am already hooked.”

I stared at him while feeling stunned.

At my expression, he again chuckled. “There’s just something about you. I knew it from the minute I saw you in that barn.”

I let out a sigh. This should have made me happy, but I couldn’t dive into hope. Life had done nothing but kick my ass since almost the day I was born. “Look, just because we slept together doesn’t mean you have to feel obligated. I mean I was the one that practically made you take me to your room.”

He stared at me intensely and leaned closer to say, “You never made me do anything. I wanted that. In fact, when I woke up early this morning, I wanted it all over again.” He paused and added, “And again.”

I felt my body flush with heat from his scent, his voice and his hot breath on my cheek.

Leaning in, his lips met mine. “You are the one woman I don’t think I can let go of.” He then crushed my lips with his.

I raised my arms and wrapped them around his neck to kiss him back. Just like the other times, I felt that spark of heat and electricity ripple across my body. I swear this man could burn me up to a crisp if I let him. I got lost in the kiss.Could a man kiss the sense from you?My head spun as Redemption did just that.

Finally, he pulled away as he stared into my eyes. “Tonight, I will be living out the fantasy I had. I want to…” He grinned at me and sat up.
