I slowly shook my head. “So you and Prophet had to leave the ranch. I bet Talon had a conniption fit over that.” I looked up at him. “How did you know I left?”
Redemption stared at me as he explained it, “I woke up and you were gone. I went to your room and there was nothing in it. You had been acting so afraid… I went looking for you and saw that slice in the fence. I’m not sorry for it, Cinnamon. I’m glad we found you.
“So am I,” Jewel said. “They were taking us to the slaughter house, I think?”
“Slaughter house?” Prophet asked.
Jewel shrugged. “Might as well be. I heard goon number one telling goon number two that they might as well have us both when we got to the van, cause we were headed for O’s torture chambers anyway.”
Redemption let out a low, angry growl.
I heard his reaction as I stared at her and I had to agree. We would have been raped then taken to one of O’s places where she would have us tossed into cages to make us wait for few days, then come and have us tortured until... I shivered and lowered my head. It was inevitable for me though as I would end up there if O lived. I shuddered and raised my head to look at Jewel with sorrow in my eyes.
Meeting my gaze, Jewel paused then she stared at the man holding me. She looked a bit startled as she watched him holding me close and she seemed to realize he didn’t know about my past.
Redemption caught this silence and he looked between us. “Why would she slaughter you or worse?” He then stared down at me.
“I…left her employ,” I gave him an honest answer.
Jewel nodded. “And with O, you better not leave. No one leaves her.”
“This woman needs to be stopped once and for all. She has a fuck of a lot to answer for,” Prophet stated.
“Oh, hell yes, she does,” Jewel agreed. “She has turned our town into trash. She owns all of downtown and most of the rest. People are scared. She rules with an iron fist, pays low wages and there is always a severe reckoning if you even try to complain. Let alone jump ship, like Cinnamon did.”
“How do you know this Ophelia bitch?” Redemption asked Jewel.
She paused and admitted, “I work in one of her clubs, though I didn’t know she owned it for the first six months I was there.”
“That’s where Jewel and I met,” I added as I again told a little more of the truth.
“So, let me get this right,” Prophet said. “Your name is Jewel and hers is Cinnamon?”
I looked over at him. “So says Prophet…” I then gazed up at the man holding me. “Redemption’s cousin.”
The two men chuckled.
Jewel blinked at me then looked at both men. “Wow, so are those your road names? I mean as bikers?”
Redemption smiled. “Yes and well… yes.”
Jewel looked confused.
“Those are their real names, Jewel,” I explained. “And get this…They are Walkers.”
Her mouth popped open. “No way!” She glanced back and forth at the men.
Nodding, I added, “From what I gathered, neither family knew about the other.”
Jewel kept staring at the guys. “That is odd. Like aren’t there seven of them or something? I mean how could that happen?”
Redemption shrugged. “There are just as many of us. But only two people seem to know that answer. My father and Bea Walker.”
She looked confused then she shrugged. “So what are we doing now?”
“Waiting,” Redemption replied “The Rebel Saints are bringing a truck for our bikes.”
“Well, thank fuck for those guys,” Jewel voiced her opinion. “The Saints are the only ones with balls enough to stand up to that wicked witch from hell. I mean she got caught or so I heard….” Her words slowed and she gasped as it dawned on her. “You guys have her?”
