“Damnit Prophet. She’s in trouble, man. Help me!”
He stared at me. “Wow, you caring about some chick?” He shook his head. “Ok, ok. Let me get dressed and get my weapons.”
I let out a long breath. The longer this took the worse my gut twisted in anxiety. What if something had happened to her? I refused to think about it. The first woman I cared about and felt something for and she could be gone for good. I paced back and forth.
“Come on man before you have a fuckin’ heart attack.” Prophet went past me out the door.
When we got outside the sun was just peeking out. We rushed along the path to the barn where our bikes were parked.
Two Rebel Saints were there, standing guard.
“What the fuck?” one of them asked.
“Get the gatehouse to let us out,” I ordered him.
“The hell you say!” he barked back at me.
I stepped close to him as I got into his face. “Cinnamon, Talon’s friend is AWOL. She’s in trouble. Let us through the gate.” I turned and got on my ride as did Prophet.”
We rode up the driveway to the gate and it did open for us. Making our way along, we hit the county road and sped up our bikes.
Dawn was about to arrive but we still had to use our headlights. I waved at Prophet to slow down as we didn’t want to ride right up on her. We rode a bit slower until we turned onto the main road into Ramton. I remembered this route from when we first arrived. We drove along as the sun finally came up. Still, no sign of her. We then saw a flash of steel in the sunlight as we did spot a bicycle.
We’d caught up with her! Then she disappeared.Fuck!
We spent ten minutes, peeking down streets until we saw her going into an apartment building.
I looked over at Prophet with a grin on my face.
He shook his head then pointed over at a van moving down that same street now.
I glared at it and it did park right in front of that same building. Turning, I looked at Prophet again.
He placed his finger to his lips then pointed down at his bike and at mine.
I got what he meant. We needed to park them and go on foot, so the people in the van wouldn’t hear us coming. I looked around and behind us was an alley. We shut our bikes down, then dismounted and walked them over to the alley. Hiding them behind a commercial trash bin, we then made our way up the street.
We stood on either side of the entrance and waited. How long it might be we didn’t know. It might be someone who lived here or… well fuck, we had no idea.
Less than ten minutes later, we saw them and they were carrying two people over their shoulders. I caught sight of Cinnamon’s brown hair and sucked in a breath. Damn, they had taken her as soon as she arrived in Ramton. Why? Anger burned through me. If they had hurt her I would… Never mind, I would kill them right now. Fuck doing it later. I took out my gun and glanced over at Prophet.
He met my gaze as he already held his glock in his hand.
We each aimed at the men.
The shots were loud in the morning silence. The men went down and the bodies they carried on their backs landed on top of them.
Cinnamon was slammed onto the sidewalk though as she bounced off her fallen captor.
I was already there to scoop her up as I told her, “I got you. I got you.”
Prophet had the other one which was also female. He came over and said, “We use their van. Put her in and help me get these losers into the back.”
I did as he said and walked up to the open van sliding door. I set her down near the front seat.
Prophet did the same with the other girl as he went and opened the back door of the van. Then we both hurried over and grabbed up one of the men. Fuck, he was so large it took the both of us to carry him. He’d gotten hit right between the eyes. The man I took out in fact. We shoved him in and turned to grab the other guy.
He must have only been injured as we saw him stumbling down the sidewalk.
