Slowly, me and my brothers all stood from our chairs. We knew he would now push for what we needed.
“Where is she?” Dad stared at Talon.
Talon stood from his chair and as he did, so did all of his brothers and Rip.
From the opposite sides of the long table, we all faced each other. Walkers facing Walkers.
“We have her in the south barn, under guard,” Talon told him.
“I want to talk to her,” Dad growled.
Talon slowly shook his head at him. “Bad idea.”
“I need to talk to her.” Dad seethed. “I can get her to tell us where Glory is being held.”
“I seriously doubt that you could,” Liv spoke up. “Unless, you’re willing to beat her to a pulp.”
“And even then, she would simply laugh at you until she passed out,” Dagger stated. “The woman has no fear.”
“Like most crazy killers,” his twin Hawk added.
I looked over at Liv who was supposed to be an NSA agent. “Have you interrogated her? You know like you were taught?”
She nodded. “Sure, all I got was inane children's rhymes, hysterical laughter and singing endlessly. I would use pentothal but…” She shook her head.
“But what?” Dad asked her.
“See we found out the hard way. Some psychopaths…” Liv paused as she bit at her lip. “They die when you do that. Seems that the truth…The REAL truth sets them off into some kind of seizure.”
“And how do you know that?” I asked.
“Cause we tried it on…” Liv paused. “One of her henchwomen. Same type of crazy as O. It killed her.”
Talon nodded. “And if that happens…” He looked around at all of us. “That won’t help you.”
“So hand her over then,” I stated what should have been said already.
The girl I’d met earlier gasped from a few chairs over as she now stood up. “So she can come back and kill us all?” She glared at me.
I narrowed my eyes at her. “You aren’t a Walker. So why are you worried?”
“What kind of asshole are you?” she snapped. “These people are your family. Sure, you don’t know them, but that has to mean something to you!”
“It does,” Jarret said as he looked at his sons.
“Yeah, Dad?” Fate asked. “Do they mean more than Glory does?”
Jarret glared at him. “You need a lesson, boy?”
Fate sighed. “I’m sorry, Dad. It’s just that—”
“I am aware of what’s at stake, Fate,” his father cut him off. “We all are.” He again looked at Talon and Liv. “What harm is there for me to go and talk to her?”
“Harm?” Liv replied. “I guess there wouldn’t be if you don’t kill her. But I am sure it will harm you more than it will her.”
“I’m not easy to get to,” Dad retorted.
“Maybe not, but I can guarantee that you will regret it.” Talon stared at him. Looking over at Liv, he said, “Let’s take him to her. Maybe she will…” He shook his head.
