I was hurrying to change, the need to go see Lira was growing stronger with my anxiety. I don’t know how I’m going to approach her, still unsure of how to tell her andYasminsorry, but I’ll figure that out when I get to her. I want to get to her before this siren warrior does.

“Uh, Alpha?”Cherum’s voice travels through my head in the mind link. “I got a situation here and don’t know how to proceed.”

“What situation? Is Lira alright?”I asked anxiously. I threw on my boots and started to storm down the hall towards the front doors of the packhouse.

“Oh, she’s a fine mess right now. She is alright, as far as I can tell. Crying happy tears, I believe.”

“She’s crying?”I doubled my pace to get outside of the castle. “What happened? Where are you?”I demanded.

“The orphanage, Alpha. We’re by the beach now.”

Shit. Did she try to escape to the sea again? I just had that image playing in my head, so my panic skyrocketed. She shouldn’t be able to shift to her siren form for two more years, though, right?

What if she figured out how? What if her father decided to take her away from me anyway?

“She’s with you? She didn’t try to leave, did she? Did she go into the ocean?”

I start rambling off questions to my Delta.

“Whoa there, Alpha. She’s fine. She’s a little excited, but she’s alright. She isn’t my issue. It’s the man she is blubbering over that is leaving me clueless about what to do.”

Killian snarls ferociously in my head at hearing about Lira blubbering and getting excited about another man.

“What do you mean,”I asked in a dangerously calm tone. I ask, but I already know. It’s what was driving my anxiety just before Cherum mind linked me, I’m sure.

“Well, Alpha, it seems that the Luna has some connection to a siren? One appeared out of the sea and started calling her princess, saying he’s here to protect her. I tried to take her away from him, sensing he had gone mad to accuse Ela of being a mermaid, but the lass wouldn’t let me. She demanded I leave them be.”

I growled, knowing that I was too late. Shit. He had already found her; this siren man named Cedric, who King Brennus claimed was a very skilled warrior.

He found my mate, and my mate is blubbering and crying happy tears all over him.

“Bring him here,”I told Cherum, working hard to control my anger. “He is not to be harmed. Head back now and bring him with you.”

“Do you know him?”Cherum asks.

I sigh, “Kind of. It’s complicated. Just come home. I want my wife back at this castle within the hour.”

“Yeah. Sure thing, Alpha. There is just one problem.”

“What?”I snapped, clenching my teeth.

“Um, he’s stark naked. The orphanage has no clothing that fits the man either. Traveling through the town with the Luna and a naked siren man might now be the best idea.”

Killian is pushing to the surface, angered that our mate is crying tears of joy over a naked man right now. A top siren warrior man sent by her father who I can not kill or displease without risking losing my mate again.

“Find him some damn clothes and bring me my wife!”

“Geez. Okay, Mr. Grumpy Drawers. Best get that temper under control before she gets there. I won’t let there be a repeat of this morning.”

I just growl, cutting the link as I pace in front of the castle. No. No repeats, but I need my wife back with me before I go mad over her myself.

Elelira POV

Cherum and Maurice try to coax me away from the man while Percy retrieves Yasmin, holding her away and shielding her view of the naked Cedric with his body.

I refuse to let him go, though. I finally found another siren. I don’t want to risk losing him, especially without finding out who exactly he is and why he keeps calling me princess.
