“I thought your name was Brian.”
I blink in surprise. “Pardon?”
“When you emailed me. I thought—well, I wasn’t really listening when Noah told me about this student of his, this whip smart breeding obsessed kid?—”
“He did not call me a breeding obsessed kid!”
“Probably not. But that’s what I heard. And I was pretty sure your name was Brian. So when you emailed me, I thought you were a young man.”
I gasp. “I mean, I suspected as much, but I didn’t know you had a whole persona in your head for me!Brian?”
“It matched the name in the email. B. Hughes.”
“That’s—” I laugh. “That’s the way our school email system is set up. And I sign my research papers as B. Hughes because it’s easier to be androgynous in this field sometimes. For obvious reasons. But I do have my name in my email signature block!”
“You have an email signature block?”
“Yes! It literally says, Brynn Hughes, Agriculture Major.”
“Ah.” He shrugs. “I don’t scroll down to the end of long messages.”
“Oh myGod. How do you function?”
“I’m very good at other things.” He smirks and tugs me on top of him. “Like breeding.”
I groan and let him kiss me, because it’s true.
“You can be in charge of my inbox if you want,” he whispers in between hungry licks.
“There better not be other horny girls in there.”
“I wouldn’t know.”
That’s for sure true. He would have no clue unless one of them showed up in Daisy Dukes and refused to let him kick her off his ranch.
“And if you find any, you can chase them off because I’m taken.”
“Give me your phone, then.”
