“Mama helped me build the organization,” I admit, “I love numbers, but I also wanted to help kids that were put in my position with Melissa, so Mama made it so I had the best of both worlds. She ran Angel’s Kids while I went to school full time before helping me get my office,” I smile slightly, “She’s been my biggest cheerleader.”

“You were never my biggest cheerleader,” Blade complains with a pout, and I grin while Mama rolls her eyes and says, “You didn’t need me to be. You had a whole club behind you, your sister had no one, so get over it.”

“Feeling the love, Mama,” he replies, and I laugh before making eye contact with Brick, who tilts his head, and I swallow hard at the look he’s currently giving me.

“I’m proud of you,” he says, “I know I don’t have a right to feel it, but I do. I am so proud of you and grateful you had Anna.”

I smile softly at him for the first time and whisper, “Thank you,” and he grins before the door to the room opens and slams shut, making us all look.

I frown, seeing an out-of-breath Nyx leaning against the door, but he ignores me for a moment, something I am so going to hit him for later, and states to Blade, “Old man Trivers’ car is back in the garage!”

I openly laugh, causing him to glare at me while Blade groans, “Goddamn it…” then says to Mama, “I’m staying here,” and she laughs with me while Brick looks down, his shoulders shaking.

“I saw Randy push it into the garage, and I made a run for it,” Nyx admits, breathing heavily.

I shake my head and ask, “I thought you were just taking Tate to preschool and then coming back? You’ve been nearly three hours.”

Nyx looks at me, his green eyes locking me in as he smiles innocently and admits, “I was packing up your apartment. The prospects are currently unpacking everything atourhome.”

Mama cackles louder, making me glare at her before she winces and holds her side at the force of her cackle and I roll my eyes while Brick quickly stands. Mock glaring at her though you can’t miss the small smile appearing on his lips, a smile I’ve realized I’ve inherited.

“You did not move me in without my okay, Nyx!” I snap, and he grins wide, crossing his arms over his chest that may grab my attention for a moment. It’s been a minute since he’s touched me before my eyes go to the tattoo on his neck, my name in bold writing before they linger on the tattoo on his arm, Tate’s name but I frown seeing a date and a number with angel wings underneath Tate’s name that wasn’t there yesterday.

“You love me, right?” he says, gaining my attention, and I nod, “And you want to spend the rest of your life with me, be a mother to Tate, and possibly grow our family?”

I roll my eyes as I stand and say, “You know I do,” and he nods as I walk over to him, and he says, “Then I’m not sorry for speeding up the process of you living together as a family. I know you said you needed time to come to terms with living near Brick and Blade but with Mama Lopez being here and you trying for her, I thought you being near was the better option for everyone.”

“You know I hate it when you do something wrong but say the right things to get out of shit,” I mutter, my eyes on his arm.

“I know, but I’m willing to do anything to have you with me, precious. I need you like I need air to breathe.” He admits, and I can’t even melt with his words because the tattoo has my whole focus.

A phone rings, and Blade curses, “Fuck, it’s Randy,” making Mama chuckle again while Brick says, “Hey, Fury, did you knowSky and Anna are the owners of Angel’s Kids, the organization the club is getting involved with in helping under privileged kids?”

Nyx replies, “Yeah, I knew, and I was shocked as fuck when I found out as well before this one forgave me.”

Tears brim my eyes as I gently trace the date on his arm before the number eight in the middle of his wings, and he gently cups my cheeks, forcing me to look at him, and my tears spill over.

“Precious,” he whispers, and I shake my head with a small sob and choke, “I love you,” before wrapping my arms around his waist and holding him tightly, my head on his hard chest, and he wraps his arms around my waist.

“Sweet pea?” Mama says with concern, and I cry, “He got the date we made our baby tattooed on his arm with the number eight in between angel wings.”

“You were pregnant?” Blade asks with tension, and Nyx answers, “She was, and she lost it the day I told her about Tate and the order.”

“Fuck...” Blade curses, realizing what caused me to lose it or contribute to the loss, and I squeeze Nyx tighter as he whispers, “Our baby will never be forgotten, precious,” and I nod.

“I love you, Nyx, so much,” I sniffle, and he cups the back of my head, replying, “I love you too,” just as his phone rings and he groans, this time making me giggle as I pull back.

He shakes his head and cups my cheeks, gently wiping away my tears, and he says, “I better go and give Randy a hand.”

I nod and remind him, “You need to convince him to stay.”

He snorts, “Fat chance with how many times Viper has gone to annoy the poor man.”

I hum and press up on my tip toes before pressing my lips against his, my whole body lightening up, and he pulls back first, smiling.

“I won’t be long,” he promises, and I nod as he looks at Blade and demands, “Watch her,” he nods as well before Nyx kisses my head, muttering, “I love you,” then turns and leaves and I bite my bottom lip.

“You’ve forgiven him, haven’t you? I mean fully,” Mama says, the smile in her voice evident, and I nod.
