I shake my head, disappointment filling me at his threat.

“No, I won’t,” I admit, “I’d sooner hang up my cut than break her trust again and you threatening that makes you a jackass and not the man I know.”

He groans, “Fuck’s sake…” and I chuckle a little because he’s obviously realized he’s acting like his dad did five years ago.

“Just go at her speed, brother,” I order, making him huff and me smile. Shaking my head, I ask, “How’s Viper doing?”

He snorts, “Not too good. The fucker decided to go to Randy’s last night and caused a bit of a scene when Lake refused to speak to him, only to come back to Dark Angel’s Bar and get blackout drunk before making out with some chick.”

“Ah fuck,” I mutter, and he hums, replying, “Yeah, it gets worse. When I explained what he did, thinking maybe he wouldn’t remember, he just shrugged and said it was time for him to move on from a woman who didn’t want him, a woman who was a liar. Apparently, he overheard Cherri on the phone yesterday, discussing Lake tying him down and getting money for her, suggesting that she had never had feelings for him and was using him for his cut. It’s why he went to Randy’s to begin with.”

I frown as Skylar wraps her arm around my waist, mine going over her shoulders automatically as I state, “Brother, that doesn’t sound like Lake.”

“What doesn’t sound like Lake?” Skylar quickly asks before looking towards Tate to make sure she’s okay which makes me smile automatically.

See, she’s her mother through and through, except for blood.

I hear Blade suck in a breath, and I roll my eyes yet again as I answer my girl, “Apparently, she used Viper for his cut to give money to Cherri. The idiot made out with some woman last night after overhearing the clubwhore’s phone call and Lake refusing to answer the door.”

Sky gets her phone out as she snorts, “Lake hadn’t had one conversation with Cherri since the woman told her to get lost when she was ten wanting to get to know her mama, and Viper is an idiot because she won’t want him at all now, especially after believing she’d be as nasty as her egg donor.”

Blade sighs, “Well, the good news is Lake doesn’t know.” but I wince and mutter, “Uh yeah, brother, she does, and Sky’s right, she wants nothing to do with Viper again,” as I read my girl’s phone that I know she’s purposely showing me.

“Ah, come on, she did not just message Lake?” Blade groans, and I chuckle lightly at the grin Sky has going on.

Did I mention that she hates the brotherhood for how they’ve treated her mama?

“She did, but you should have seen it coming, brother. Lake is her family, along with Ivy and Raya,” I state while Skylar nods.

Her phone beeps, and I look over to read the message, which this time has me groaning.

My Girls – Lake : Dad’s going to message Fury. He wants to collect his tools. I tried to stop him, but, well, he’s done with the club xx.

Her phone beeps again.

My Girls – Luna: Ah crap! xx

And another beep.

My Girls – Ivy: Dammit! I loved working with Randy growing up. Damn Viper! Xx

“Fuck’s sake, Randy wants his tools and Ivy’s pissed,” I mutter, and Blade curses.

He was our best fucking mechanic, and for years, we tried to get him to join the club, but he refused for Lake’s sake, and now, because of Viper and his stupidity, he won’t return to the garage.

Sky shrugs, not one bit sorry before she kisses my cheek and saunters off towards our daughter, my eyes on the other hand go to her juicy ass that I want to grab.

I’m pretty sure she wore tight leggings and a crop top to tease me.

“Go warn Viper, brother. He needs to know what’s going on. I’ll be back tomorrow night for church,” I say, and he huffs, “Fine…” before hanging up like a kid in a sulk and I chuckle, putting my phone away before making my way back over to my girls.

I grin at Tate as she presses her hand up against the glass as the lion walks past looking at her, and I walk up behind my girl, wrapping my arms around her.

She melts into me as she asks, “Is he mad?”

I hum and admit, “More so because you won’t speak to him. He, like myself, understands why Randy quit.”

“I’m not ready,” she whispers, and I press my lips against her head and ask, “Not ready because you are not ready or not ready because Mama Lopez isn’t?”
