This time I’m ready when the pup transforms, and I turn away before he shifts. Tristan hands him a sheet, ready for them this time.
“Thank you, Alpha Greyson,” Tanner says, bowing his dark head.
“You’re welcome, Tanner.”
“Can you do Chloe next?” Tanner asks, pointing to her. “She’s really strong and she’s scared no one will be able to make her wolf listen.”
I glance at Raven and grin. Clearly, the little nine-year-old has a crush on the white wolf. It’s freaking adorable puppy love.
“Sure, buddy, I can try Chloe next. Can you get her to come over here?” Greyson nods.
“Hey, Chloe, it’s okay. Alpha Greyson is really super strong. It will work. It doesn’t even hurt, I promise. It’s just like a normal shift.” Tanner moves closer to the cowering white wolf.
“It’s okay to be scared,” Colby says. “Alpha Greyson said it’s okay to be scared but you’re brave if you do the thing that scares you.”
The little white wolf hesitantly trots over to Greyson. Greyson holds out his hand so she can sniff him, and a whine escapes her before she rolls on her back, showing Greyson her belly.
“Chloe is my niece and she’s an alpha. Her wolf is hard to control on a good day,” Tristan says.
“Chloe, shift. Now,” Greyson commands just as someone barges inside the room, out of breath.
The man’s eyes are wide as he sees the children back to normal but shakes himself out of his shock a second later. “Boss, you need to come quick. There’s been an attack. It’s bad. Really fucking bad.”

“Where?” Tristan barks.
“Dominic is on the phone in the office. I left it there because…” He glances at us warily.
“Good call,” Tristan says. “I have to take this.”
“You were in Winslow,” I say.
“I was,” he says, cheeks turning pink.
“You were rhyming the whole time. Glad to see you back to normal.” I grin.
Tristan stops in the doorway. “Stay with them. Alpha Greyson is forcing the pups to shift back and once he’s done, show them to the suites we set up for them.”
“What are their names?” Greyson asks.
The two gray pups whine and one yips at Greyson as he bumps his little head into Greyson’s shin.
“That one is Micah and the other is Malcolm. They are twins,” the beta says.
“Be ready with a blanket or something. The others aren’t used to nudity the way we are.” Greyson nods.
“Got it.”
Greyson goes through the same process and the twins are covered in sheets in minutes. They all cluster around Chloe like she’s the glue of their little friendship. It’s the cutest thing I have ever seen.
“What were you guys doing when the moon went missing to end up in your wolf form?” I ask.
“We were on a run, and then when we came back, we couldn’t shift,” Micah says. “I was scared we would go feral.”
“Nah, it wouldn’t have gone on that long, even if I hadn’t come to help.” Greyson ruffles his hair.
A yawn I can’t control bursts free and Jayden glances over. He must notice the exhaustion setting in because he cuts in through the chatter.
