Jayden’s spine straightens. “What does everyone else think?”
“I’m with B and Jayden on this,” Raven says. “We need to move our asses before real trouble that we can’t stop comes for us.”
“And for the world,” Greyson agrees.
I turn to Adrian but his eyes are glazed with a vision.
“I really hope that’s not a bad omen.” I shudder.
Adrian blinks the fog from his eyes. “We have to drive through the night. It’s important.”
“Okay, majority rules.” I turn back around and face the front.
“You guys only agreed with them because you’re all buddies,” Draven bitches.
Ugh, we’re really going to have to listen to him complain for the next eight hours. At least no one will fall asleep at the wheel with him nagging.
“They didn’t. Idiot. Adrian clearly just had a vision and trust me no one wants to be in a car with you for that long when you didn’t get your way.” I tilt my head back and squeeze my eyes shut.
“I used a lot of power out there. I just want to sit and have a meal,” Draven grumbles.
I reach in my bag and pull out a pack of beef jerky and toss it at his head.
“All we have is snacks. We’re in middle of nowhere, Nebraska. Chill out.”
“I don’t want beef jerky. I want to sit somewhere other than a car and eat,” he whines.
Jayden grabs my wrist before I can unbuckle my seat belt and fly at the idiot in the back.
“He’s not worth it, Beth. You could hurt yourself or someone else.” Jayden glances in the rearview mirror at Greyson and Raven.
“Worth it,” Raven singsongs. “A knee to my gut would be worth it to see her throttle the fuckwit.”
“You’re not helping, Raven,” Jayden grunts.
Greyson chuckles. “She rarely does in these situations.”
“Hey, you’re supposed to be on my side.” Raven narrows her eyes on him.
“I am on your side, babe. I’m also honest and Jayden says that to you like a lot.” Greyson ducks out of the way as Raven tries to elbow him.
“Not cool.” Raven crosses her arms over her chest with a pout.
“No one is listening,” Draven yells. “I want real food.”
“Beth told you all we have is snacks. Stop being a toddler.” Raven turns her glare on Draven.
Jayden’s hand tightens on my thigh. “Knock it off. I have no issue dumping you on the side of the road.”
“You can’t. You need me to save the students.”
I spin in my seat again at his smug tone. “Can we hog-tie and duct-tape his mouth shut until we actually need him?”
“Why didn’t we think about that from the beginning?” Raven shakes her head. “We could have had a lot more peace over the last few days.”
“You can’t do that. I have magic. I’ll just bust free.”
“Like you did in that cave?” I ask.
